Matt Gragg, a RHP from South Caldwell is a big time pitcher that hasn't signed as of now. He is 6'4" and long and throws in the high 80's, with ease.He has been clocked at 90-91 over the summer.Very projectable! He had a pretty good year last season during HS and then come into his own over the summer playing for Caldwell Post 29.He will join Madison Bumgarner at SC and make one of the best 1-2 pitching combinations anywhere.

    Rumor has It ??

My scouts have heard rumors that Wesley Dozier, Hopewell High School, has been offered a baseball scholarship to the U of Tennessee? Anyone know if this is true. Wesley is a very talented infielder with tons of potential so it wouldnt surprise me at all if it were true.

Not sure if it has been offered yet but their coach has requested a copy of our schedule. The Carson-Newman (TN) coach mentioned to me they would like to get Dozier and Cochran, and he will be at some of the early games along with a long list of others. North Carolina, Tennessee, Coastal Carolina, Winthrop, UNC-Asheville, Appalachain, UNCC, Lenoir-Rhyne, Wofford, Wingate, and a few others I can't think of right at this moment are schools wanting to see Andy Oliver, Wes Dozier, and Matt Cochran play.

    Austin Sherron

Austin is a 6'3'' right hander at East Carteret HS, down in Beaufort. He's a 5 sport athlete, and wants to compete at the next level in baseball. His fastball is in the mid 82-85, with a moving change up around 74-76. Throws a curve ball for strikes, developing a slider. And he is a pure bulldog. We can be up down 8 or down 8 and he does not want to come off that mound.

Figured I'd show my Cary bias a little bit in this thread...

Cary's got a Senior shortstop that, in my opinion, can play on the D1 level. Maybe small D1, but he's got a ton of tools. His name is Michael Rooney, and he's played Varsity all four years in the Tri-7 4A conference. I believe he has started all 4 years as well (his FR year he played 2nd Base because of some stud they had at SS ;) ) but I believe he's been the starting SS since his sophomore year. I don't have his stats available, and with a new coaching staff at CHS.. I probably won't be able to get my hands on them as easy.

He also played football his junior and senior seasons for the Imps (played WR).

    Great kid also.

But if you'd like anymore info. on Rooney, I can see what I can get on him and get back to you.

I've been away from here for awhile, what is "Rep Power"?

    I agree on m Rooney

M Rooney played AAU ball with my son for several years. Great hands, heady ballplayer who is a leader on the field. We wish him the best. He helped lead a group of kids when they were 12 years old to win a 48 team tournament in Cooperstown, first team from North Carolina to ever win that tourney. Rooney can play and I wish him the best this year at Cary. Knows the game and plays the game the way it should be played. Was taught to respect the game. http://www.thisboardrocks.com/forum/images/smilies/agreed.gif :agreed:

    rooney

^ Definitely. He is one of these kids who you love to have on your team. Really respects the game and its participants.

    Nice post nomarsdad.

I believe Wes Skidmore committed to UNC-Asheville just recently. I'm not sure but I am trying to find out. Could anyone help me?
