Belmont Abbey mustered only three hits in eight innings off Lenoir-Rhyne starter Jesse Jordan and fell 11-2 to the Bears in collegiate baseball. L-R improves to 5-3 on the season.

    Way to Go Bears

Way to go Bears. Jordan and TJ Worrell have both been throwing extremely well, and Coop is coming around. Those three would be a great starting rotation heading into conference play. The doc has Wiley "test driving" his leg in practice for the next week, and hopefully he'll get his final release to play next Tuesday. :satana: :woohoo:

    Jordan 8 K's

David Beach 4-4, 3 runs, 2 RBI, HR

Billy Doyle 3-5, run, 3 RBI

Bears scored 5 in the top of the 9th to put it away for good. Wow!

Home game finally on Saturday, DH against Mount Olive. Bring the pickles!!!

Nothing really to add. Jesse pitched great, Beach, Tarleton, Doyle and co. were outstanding and the weather was nearly perfect. It was good to see Coach Sink finally honored us with his presence...might be why we played so well.

Mt Olive is coming to town!!!! If someone performs a hat trick, are we supposed to throw pickles on to the field? Based on the weather predictions for Saturday they might freeze...those suckers might hurt..especially if they throw them back at us. Anyway, I hope we can get a game in!

Looking forward to meeting you Pats!!!!!

    Coach Sink

Braves, glad to hear Coach Sink was there. What a great man. For those of you who don't know Coach Sink, he is the retired head baseball coach at Charlotte Myers Park, and a Lenoir-Rhyne grad and LOYAL alumni who goes to many L-R football, basketball, and baseball games. His grandson, Brian Neill, played baseball at L-R and South Meck. One of his other grandsons, Logan Smith, plays baseball at UNC-G.

Braves, if you're going to do a thread on John Rhyne, you've got to do one on Coach, too. You won't find more loyal fans anywhere than those two.

I agree Papa...I want to do a thread about devoted alumnus..and John came to mind, but Coach Sink is the epitome as well as Kathy Neil and Brenda Smith...hmmm...I wonder where they got that from?

Mainly for you dads I talked to the other day, Mr. ****** has fixed his issues and has the full support of all his professors to continue playing baseball this spring. Just wanted to let you all know that. 48 hours is an eternity in the academic world I suppose!
