:agreed: ...last I checked it took more than one player to win a game....a TEAM wins the game.

    just wondering about this...

In the preface, Impact states that the selections were made in conjunction with college recruiters and pro scouts. If in fact Impact did this, who would be better to judge than the college recruiters who just finished observing and following these players over the course of time from their Jr season of HS, thru the summer, right thru early fall and trying their hardest to win the recruiting battle for them? The area pro scouts have certainly made a point to see the '06s over this period of time. Its their job to identify, follow, make reports and assign rankings for each player they like in their area.

Now to the wondering part....Would this list carry more weight with the dissenters if Impact put an addendum to the article with the names of the college recruiters and/or pro scouts that they conferred with on the finalization of this list?

    In '05 and '04 Impact did publish a 2nd and 3rd All-Impact team.
For some reason in '06, Impact did not do this.

My son played for Impact last season. For under $1000, he received a top of the line Bat Bag, windbreaker, batting gloves, uniform tops, hats, pants, Mizuno cleats, Free invitation to 3 major showcases with plenty of college/pro scouts in attendance, and played in about 15 major showcase tournaments at some of the nicest college/other fields in NC, SC, GA. and FL. It is a racket alright - for the players.

Not that all is attributed to Impact but you can take a look at where these players have committed to play next year to see the college recruiters they have confered with....

Has anybody gave any thought that Impact does a good job of recruiting some of the best players in the Carolina's and Va....Impact 06 fall team if I'm not mistaken only lost 1 game....that's not to say that other players aren't derserving, but the players Impact promotes are pretty good players regardless of what team they played for....

We could all come up with our list of HS players....I guess what I'm trying to say here is that if you were starting a college team tomorrow I think you would gladly take any of the "ALL IMPACT TEAM" players and feel good about it.:twocents:

yes... Dback20.. in my mind those colleges represented speak for themselves but evidently it doesn't in some folks' minds.
That's why the public acknowledgment of just who had a say in that list might give more validity to it.

Yes, I do agree that thru the years Partin has recruited some of the very best players in NC and that has been proven by their successfulness at high levels of competition. He didn't get them all but he got alot :D...

In my earlier post, I left Impact's part out of the equation in the assessment of the players simply because that seems to be what stirs up all the controversy and brings partiality into play.

Did they also get pizza after the game? Impact is nothing more than a business that exploits (showcases) talent at the high school level. Their rankings are certainly biased, and their motivation is money...it's a business.

No doubt. It is a business.

But it is a business that delivers on its promise.
Impact supplies kids the "opportunity" to showcase "their" individual talent to coaches and scouts at the next level.

I have no ties to Impact, but respect the job that they have done to get kids to the next level. And that is what its all about.

You are absolutely correct. I don't understand why people bring up Impact and costs. They are one of if not the least expensive "showcase" teams around....talking about bang for your bucks!!!

But I have to sliightly disagree with BB9'er. Impact does solicit feedback from college coaches and pro scouts, but he hasn't solicited the opinion (at least not recently) from the true knowledgable, unbiased, uncompromising, incomp..er... unquestioned source in the State.....
