    South Meck vs McDowell

Titan90 she would'nt play Latta unless she was caught in a mismatch. For that matter who can guard Ivory Latta? Joy will be fine in college once she gets some fundamentals down, strength etc. Even your coach Silver get her just due by saying she was the real deal and the best he faced all season. My goodness she gave you guys 25 and should have had 30. She had 11 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Sounds like ACC stats to me. Good luck next year. By the way the Washington kid is a good one and only a sophmore....whew!

sounds like ACR might have dodged a bullet last night... i read in the Charlotte paper that East Gaston keyed in on thompson and worley and held them to a combined 10 points... if those two girls combined only score 10, i think ACR loses, but apparently the rest of the team picked up the slack... i'm sure those girls were factors elsewhere, but they sure didn't rack up
NW4A all conference numbers last night... the paper says huntley had 24 i think with 5 or 6 3's... great to see her step up...

harding will be a true test... boular tore up ACR the last time they played...

As for south caldwell match up... one difference i see in the inside game of lakey and mcdowell's Swat-Fest... her body... i think lakey has better body control and can use that to create more contact and less clean blocks... i still say take it at south meck and try to get some foul trouble... if south's perimeter players light it up like they can, that will also help open up the inside game... i know SC will make some adjustments, i just hope they don't overdo that and take themselves out of their comfort zone... Play your game, play physical, and play with confidence... unfortunately, from the sounds of the article covering south meck / mcdowell, it sounds like south figured out how to play like a team... last week i said that their lack of fundamentals / solid coaching might hurt them... but, if they turned that corner and saw such good results against mcdowell, they become much scarier... they have all the makings of championship team, just need to pull together and play like a team... if they do that, they could be untouchable...

Harding's team speed IMO is going to give AC Reynolds the most problems. In last night's sectional matchup between Harding and Butler, Butler dominated the boards (something like 34-10). I think Reynolds will start out man-to-man against Harding, but if Snead draws up a zone that worked as well as it did in the NW4A tournament game against McDowell, then Reynolds may be better off.

On offense, Thompson will really need to be aggressive, not only shooting the three but driving to the basket and drawing fouls. Worley, Whitaker and Huntley will also need to score in the 15-20 points each range.

reynolds played harding at home in the first round one year and i think it was the year boular was a freshman or something... harding had a young team, full of track stars, and ran the crap out of reynolds... shocked them with a first round defeat at home... not sure the year, but if boular was a fresh, then it was prob. 4 years ago...

No team, nor Lakey will do anything inside against this crowd. The refs are not going to call fouls. They stick their hands up and the ball is blocked. McDowell refused to learn the lesson. They continued to force the ball inside. It simply will not work! I said with 3:55 to go at a timeout and an 8 point spread that someone should tell Kurie to take at least 6 3's before the end and they might have a chance. I don't think she ever shot again, and the score just widened.

South Caldwell's only chance is to run hard, play really good defense, and throw it up from 3. Of course, you have to keep them off the offensive boards, which isn't easy. Their guards aren't that great and are prone to turnovers. You need to work on them.

I think Reynolds matches up much better with this team because they have several players who can shoot the 3. If they shoot well, the upset could happen.

I REPEAT, DO NOT TAKE THE BALL INSIDE. IT WON'T WORK. DON'T BE HARDHEADED!:banginghe

Cheek is blessed with the physical attributes to be an ACC player. I don't know how yall recruited the big girl, but good gracious, she's so giant, it's not even funny.

It's just like Anna, Kurie was every bit as good as any player out there, but you can't teach height.

By the way, Cheek was more impressive on defense than offense, but I know she can score, too.

I hope Reynolds bombs them into oblivion. SHOOT THE 3!
