I was just wondering if any of you had the inside track of any fields in the area that would be willing to let us get on their field for a few practices. We have gotten some field contacts from other managers in the league, but they seem to be giving me the runaround. Its a good way for a baseball program to earn some extra money by letting us use the field for a few hours on Sunday afternoons. If you have any info, just PM me and let me know something. I appreciate all the help!!

Braves....pull some some strings for me buddy!!!

Have you called Bob Rhodes at Olympic? He might be able to help you with his field.

The problem with a CMS HS field is they want everything funneled through downtown instead of directly through the coach at the HS....but give Rhodes a call.

Also, you can walk on the field at the old Smith Middle School on Tyvola between South Blvd and Park Rd...since it is no longer a middle school their field is not used.

we play a large part of our schedule there, along with waddell, but our deal with those schools are that we don't interfere with them until after their season is over.

the problem here is middlemen. most of our contacts for fields are players or managers that are in our league. i contact them and they get in touch with the schools, coaches, or a.d.'s. therefore, if they don't want the new team getting practice time, they put forth no effort to help us out. i hate the politics of crap. just let me and my guys play baseball i say.

thanks again for all the help, and if anyone has any other ideas, i'm WIDE open.

    Still Looking for a field

Brave's right to get a CMS field you have to go through downtown. I have seen teams on Olympic's Field but it mostly was an adult baseball league. My son's old AAU team use to practice on Kennedy's field we had to beat it into shape and only a 300ft fence but it sufficed. John Thurston's (the asst. coach at Olympic) Legion team was using it alittle on the weekend to practice, but if you get your paper work in and OK it with the AD at Kennedy you should be fine. We paid $25.00 for when we sent the paper work in and we used it for 3 months on week ends and 2 nights a week after school was out. The paperwork is for any CMS field schedule permitting. Good luck
