12to6,,,, I would be surprised if Piedmont throws Timmy King against Charlotte Christian tonight. Most SPC teams begin conference play this week, I would be surprised if Piedmont don't save King for their conference opener.

Btw,,, congrats on Charlotte Christian getting things in order in the Win column, I knew it was just a matter of time. I thought it was real funny (but really just plain STUPID) when the Observer dropped you guys out of their Sweet 16 just because you lost 3 games to the Yankees, Red Sox and Braves...:thud:

I've seen many a player ejected for jewelry in the past year or two. Some umpires don't even give warnings anymore and just eject on the spot. It's been in the rules forever and umpires don't seem to have much patience with it anymore. I've seen a problem with the definition of "jewelry" also. Players should be very careful.

Yep, happened to our starting pitcher last night. The Umpire took 3 innings to notice whatever it was, and disqualified the kid at the start of the 4th inning. You'd think if it took him 3 full innnings to notice it, he might have issued a warning. :banginghe :banginghe

Seems like the kids would stop wearing jewelry then. Just saying.

There should not be a warning. The coaches and players know this rule. Nothing new about it.

Au contraire....until this season, HS umpires were to warn a player/team of this. Legion baseball, there is no warning.

I find it silly that a kid wearing a (keep pounding) bracelet was ejected. This is nonsense. If that is considered jewelry, just tell them to take it off...jeez, it's about the players...what a silly rule.

What advantage does a catcher have by wearing a donation (rubber band). If that was the case, they should make the rule applicable to all levels of baseball (which they don't)...it doesn't apply to colleges

    CCS 14 - Piedmont 4

Lyerly vs Bard. Lylerly undermined by walks and errors early. CCS bats then kicked in and put it away in the bottom of the 6th against Piedmont relief. Bard pretty strong thru 4 then Burns and Nichols to finish 5 & 6.
