I watched south caldwell`s JV play ashbrook and although they dont seem to be as deep as last year. they still have some quality players which are sure to make them one of the better JV teams in the state

The Rockets return two starters off a strong team,(18-5), last year. Two of our losses were to South Caldwell who was definitely the class of the NW4A a year ago. They came from behind to beat us in a last inning rally at their place, and beat us pretty soundly up here. I'd say we're winning ugly so far this year, but are giving up way too many unearned runs. It looks like South Caldwell is the team to beat again...Rocket rundown:

    ACR-12 Enka-7 wp-AWall
    ACR-6 TC Roberson-3 wp-Overbey
    ACR-19 Asheville-6 wp-Fussell..HR-AWall
    ACR-14 TC Roberson-13 wp-Overbey..HR-Tressler
    ACR-10 East Burke-3 wp-Fussell..HR-Overbey

Rockets are 5-0 heading to Alexander Central Friday

    Hopewell over Olympic

    Monday - 3/13 ... Titans - 29 -- Trojans - 7

Little late in posting - work keeps getting in the way! Hopewell rebounded after the 10-0 loss against Providence the week before - their bats came alive and they took advantage of the numerous errors by the young Trojans. Scott Weynand started the game for Hopewell, pitching well for 2-1/3 innings. He was relieved by Jon Fisher, who went the remainder of the game, only giving up one hit. The Titans scored 5 in the first inning and never trailed. Tony Hughes and Rusty White led the offense with several hits each, including 2B. Other leading hitters for Hopewell were Robert Weimer, Scott Weynand and Chandler Lyles. Hats off to Olympic as they never quit. The JV Titans are off the rest of the week and will face Myers Park on Monday.

    Providence 15 Independence 0

Providence continued their all around strong play with a 15-0 victory over Independence in five innings moving to 2-0 in league play and 6-0 overall. The Panthers showed the depth of their pitching staff as Alex Wood, Elliot Carol, Andrew Miller, Jordan Fuller and Alex Askey combined for a 5 hit shutout. Eddie Covert lead the 20 hit Panther attack with 3 hits and Corey Smith continued swinging a hot bat :woohoo:

Tyler Moore had three hits, including the game-winning single in the bottom of the sixth, and Jon Sharpe homered and picked up the win in relief.
