I'm not sure I saw what I saw in the last few innings. PHS played some beautiful textbook "small-ball" in the 6th on a perfect suicide squeeze and a steal of home that took everyone in the stadium by surprise to take a 3-1 lead............only to see the wheels fall off in the 7th. :thud:

GREAT PITCHING FROM NWC SUPER-SOPH RYAN OVERCASH!!!!...........All of the pieces are starting to fall together for the Trojans. Great pitching from Shane Small early on for PHS.

G-Backs: It was great hanging out with you again.:bananalam Good luck to you guys in conference play and Junior next year at Wake.

North Davidson 5 West Forsyth 1

Pitchers duel for a while between future college stars Andrew Hunt & Greg Holt, with Hunt getting the edge tonight. North broke through in the 4th (I think) with a 3 run bomb by Daniel Kassouf. Holt hit a massive shot in the 5th the cleared the centerfield scorboard by a mile. Had to be a 450 shot.

North's first conference win. West is still the team to beat in the conference of course.

South Meck 7 vs Weddington 1

Don't have all the details or stats....got to the game late.

Matt Andress went all the way for South pitching a great game. He struck out 13 or 14 batters and I only saw 2 hits...great job by Andress.

Weddington struggled in the field...5 or 6 of the runs were scored on pass balls and wild pitches.

Will update more stats when I get them....Good to see South Meck starting to come back around.

throwheat...agree, not that it makes a difference but I think the lead off batter walked....advanced to 2nd on pass ball.... then scored on the hit...I think that is scored as "unearned"....

    glenns record is 4-2
alright well this game was an espn instant classic in high school baseball i mean this game had it all cross town rivals battling back and fourth 7th inning comeback then 3 more innings after that. This game was a battle to the end no doubt all the kids left it all on the field.

    stats:east forsyth
Travis Woolen 2-4 idk if thats correct or not but he smashed the ball everytime
Hanover was 1-3 2b and run
only real standouts on east side other then that great team ball out of them

    Glenn:
    beatty 4-4 2 2b's 1 3b 1 or 2 rbi's GW 2b also
    boyan 2-4 2b, 2rbis
    jacobs 2-4 2b and 2 rbis

other then that great team ball this game was great from finish to end i know eaglebomber13 would have been proud even though his school was on the losing end

    Fred T Foard 11 West Caldwell 4

Foard got off to another sluggish start and spotted West Caldwell a 4-0 lead. The bats came alive for the Tigers who were led by Aaron King's two HRs (6 RBIs) and Chad Rothin's first HR of the season. Those with two hits for Foard were Ben Lilly, Tyler Buchanan, and Andrew Wyant.

Trent Rothlin went the distance for the Tigers to gain the victory. Next week will be a tough test for Foard. The Tigers (7-2 4-1) play three conference foes - Bunker Hill, Bandys, and St. Stephens.

    Lumberton 3 Swett 0

WP - Mac Read 7 IP 2 Hits 10 Ks
LP - Thorne Locklear 6 IP 4 hits

A real pitchers duel with Lumberton scratching out a few runs. Read took a no hitter into the sixth but left a changeup up and gave up a blooper over short. Lumberton now 5-4, 2-0.

    From the Mountains:

    Swain County 5
    Rosman 4

    Rosman: 0 0 1 0 0 0 3 -- 4 7 2
    Swain: 4 0 1 0 0 0 x -- 5 6 1

    Winning pitcher: Josh Aliman (7 IP, 4 R, 4 ER, 7 H, 8 Ks, 7 BBs)
    Losing pitcher: Shane Galloway (6 IP, 6 R, 3 ER, 6 H, 9 Ks, 0 BBs)

Leading hitters: Rosman -- Galloway 2-for-3, double, 3 RBIs, Josh Riddle 2-for-3, double, run; Swain -- Tyler Shuler 2-for-3, double, 2 runs, 2 RBIs, Justin Crawley 2-for-3, 2 RBIs.

This is considered an upset since Rosman is a highly ranked team this year, but Swain is always competetive.

    East Henderson 6
    Enka 0

    East: 0 3 2 0 1 0 0 -- 6 13 1
    Enka: 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 -- 0 4 2

    Winning pitcher: Skyler Hill (7 IP, 0 R, ER, 4 H, 2 Ks, 7 BBs)
    Losing pitcher: Alex Davis (3 IP, 5 R, 5 ER, 7 H, 0 Ks, 2 BBs)

Leading hitters: East -- Josh Cornwell 3-for-5, two doubles, Trey Cornwell 2-for-3, Skyler Hill 2-for-4, double; Enka -- Eric Wright 2-for-3.

    Records: East, 1-9; Enka 7-3.

A good 1st win of the season for East Henderson over a quality opponent.
