    Depends

It's certainly not the toughest from top to bottom, but with #1 Reynolds and #2 South Caldwell, the NW4A is at least among the toughest. Alexander Central and Watauga will also give you a battle.

South Meck's league is certainly loaded. I don't know much about the east.

    SW4A

    SW4A- IMHO

Take any one of the seven teams from the SW4A, and put them in another conference; & they will be making a run in the state playoffs.

Providence, South Meck, Butler, Weddington, Myers Park, East Meck, Independence..... WOW!

Every game is a "battle". No weak teams in this league.
I am only glad that we only have three meetings with teams from this conference.

It is impossible to compare one conference to another. We do not have a chance to see teams from the East. I know there are some "monster" teams in the east & NW, but top to bottom it is tough to match this list.

Certainly, I have to mention the SW4A. Year in, year out there seems to be a state contender in the bunch. Take '05 for example, teams from this conf. were beating up on each other in the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the playoffs. The Tri-7 deserves some respect as well. Fuquay Varina and Lee County have some impressive jewelry on their fingers.

    Tri-7 Deserves Respect

I don't get the chance to see many teams from the west but I would have to say that the Tri-7 would have to be in the running. With recent state champions Fuquay Varina and Lee County the Tri-7 has a new power, Middle Creek. The conference is very strong top to bottom, and can compete with anyone in the state.

    Southwestern 2A/3A

The Southwestern 4A has got to be the toughest, but the Southwestern
2A/3A has had 4 teams(East Rutherford, Burns, Kings Mountain and RS Central) in the "Sweet 16" at some point this season, and Shelby is coming on strong now that they have everyone back. 5 teams out out of 6 playing over .500.

    hard to argue against them.

Ragsdale undefeated and ranked #1 with several wins against top teams. Southwestern Randolph was an Impact pre-season honorable mention crusing a long at 6-0 til they ran into conference play and are now struggling at 1-3, 7-3 overall.

Eastern Randolph moved into Impact poll as a #5 til they got side swiped by Ragsdale and conference member SE Guilford.

now Randleman is sitting at #10 on NCPreps ranking. They have moved up to 3A with a roar and are loaded with quality pitching and hitting.

    Ragsdale 3-0 10-0
    SE Guilford 2-1 6-3
    Randleman 2-1 8-2
    Asheboro 2-1 7-3
    E. Randolph 2-2 7-3
    SW Randolph 1-3 7-3
    Trinity 0-4 2-7

Trinity is the only real weak team in the conference and they aren't that bad - just over matched in this conference.

Man...what a game the other day. Conley 1- West Carteret 0

Alex White vs Drew Poulk. The whole town of Greeneville came out for this one (witnessed by 30+ scouts) as Alex had 12 K's and Drew had 8 K's, no BB's and 2 hits.....what a game!!!!!
