Charlotte Christian Head Coach Greg Simmons notched his 300th win this past Saturday as the Knights beat Hillcrest (SC) 4-2, a milestone accumulated over his 15 or 16 seasons at CCS.

    Way to go Coach!:woot:

To average 20 wins a year for 15 years is incredible. :woot:

Coach Simmons has a direct pipeline to the colleges for his players. Not to takeaway the tough schedule that Charlotte Christian plays each year, but it sure would be fun to see CC play in a public school conference (like SW4A). The rivalries between the schools would be intense.

It would be great to see, but it will never happen in a conference like the SW4A. If Christian wanted to join a public conference, they would not be able to recruit like they do now(don't say they don't recruit). It's a talented team, but next year they will not be that strong. Maybe some new kids will come in.

coach simmons and his staff do not recruit, the players do it themselves; other players from other teams play with those guys on, on deck and megastars, diamond devils; and see the facilities, the field, the schedule, the competition, the talent, the coach, the trips and they compare it to what they have now and it blows everything away. charlotte christian baseball recruits itself, it doesn't need coach simmons to do recruiting. the players encourage their friends who play on the same summer ball teams to come to christian and they do. no scholorships are given for athletics.

CCS will be good next year, they just don't have the big names and seniors they do this year

I agree. I didn't want to go there because I didn't want to divert attention away from Coach Simmons' accomplishments

Well , they do recruit. I was called 3 years in a row, trying to get me to bring my son there to play baseball. Yes, they do offer reduced tuition to good athletes, but it is not called athletic scholarshipss. I know personally two kids came to play basketball at Christian and know for sure they can not afford two kids at Christian. Either someone is playing the cost for the family or it is a very reduced tuition. A lot of parents will do the calling for the coaches so they will not get in trouble. But trust me, recruiting goes on in most private schools, some are just a little more discreet.
