    Question about the Jack Sink?

Wood bats? What is up with this and why did they go to wood bats in a high school tourny? I can't tell if I like it or not. It just sounds weird.

Wow, and just who is paying for all the broken lumber? Since most HS players don't know how to hit with wood without breaking it, could be an expensive tourney.

Shane Small, Spencer Hendel, David Mailman and Eric Summerville combined for 13-Strike Out, 1-hit performance. The Panthers made the most of their hits rapped around a few walks and hit batters. Panther 2nd Baseman Andy Holcomb led the charge going 3-3.

Providence Beat Berry Academy yesterday 16-1 and faces Garinger tomorrow to conclude their jack Sink Tourney.

Who arranged this tourney of mismatches?? South Meck, Myers Park, Providence and Independence get matched against Garinger, Harding & Berry?? Whats that all about??

I was at the game and I thought the final score was:
    Providence 5
    Central Cabarrus 1

Anyway, I think that there has been enough complaints about some of the rather lopsided matchups in the Jack Sink tournament that it will be different next year.

I heard that the wood bats were donated by Wes Skidmore's (South Meck catcher) father. I heard he has a new company involved with making/selling wood bats, so it was a very nice community gesture.

Personally, I liked the wood bats in this tournament and it helped keep the baseball from sailing over the fence in some of the one-sided contests.

no details - I only saw the score as I rode by the field. Ragsdale goes to 12-0 on the season.

Next two conference games against Randleman and Asheboro both tied for second place. No easy games in the mid piedmont
