    That's Right!

You're not kidding. Them boys from South Caldwell are good. AC Reynolds made a few mistakes and SC capitalized, and then SC got an incredible pitching performance by Madison Bumgarner. He gave up only 4 hits and had 9 K's, to a team that had been crushing the ball. If there is a better pitcher in the state of NC, I would like to see it. He may one of the top juniors in the nation. I would go as far as saying that. The atmosphere at this game was like no other I have been a part of, in HS baseball. I don't know how many people were there but everyone was going crazy, it was exciting. South Caldwell looked really focused from the moment they showed up at the field. Congratulations guys, I'm proud of you!

Courage is FEAR, that said it's PRAYERS.
Let's not overlook the pitching the ACR staff did as well, Howell (5 2/3) and Runion (1 1/3) combined to allow 4 hits and 9 strikeouts as well and 0 earned runs! It was ACR's defense that didn't show up last night!

I covered the game in Fairview for the paper here and I can sum up this game easily. Both teams are very talented, but the head and shoulders difference between Reynolds and SC is big game experience. South Caldwell maybe has I think four seniors on that team but from top to bottom, all have been in a big baseball game before. Reynolds wanted to win badly. South Caldwell expected to win. Madison, Hardee, Matt Gragg, Seter, Hilton all played in the American Legion State Playoffs last year and the rest of the team either played on the "B" American Legion State Championship team last year or on AAU teams before that.

Tons can be said for a team when a pitcher as a junior has the confidence to can go out and say just scratch the board and then get on my back cause I will get us the rest of the way.
