West Caldwell has lost a ton of great players. We beat them today 18-0.

seeing that west committed 10 errors..most of their runs scored off them...i think it will be much closer next time...

    Hickory High

Hickory High lost Derek Boliek (their best all-around player in MY opinion) this week due to surgery on repairing a sports hernia. Not exactly sure how long he is scheduled to be out, anywhere from 3-5 weeks would be an accurate assumption. I am not sure how much this will effect that squad but Derek did seem to be a big leader for that group. If I receive any more details on this situation, I will be sure to post it. I hate it for Derek, he is a great kid and a tremendous player.

We have been hearing about the strong pitching in the CVAC. Hearing lots of Buzz about Rothlin, Gibbs, and Johnson. All juniors?? They'll all go DI?? Pro? How have their springs been?

    Hickory vs. Foard

Sure doesn't seem to be much buzz around the upcoming Hickory/Foard match up. Don't know if a gag order has been imposed or maybe people are figuring this to be game two of a possible four game set (possible Easter tournament and conference tournament). In general, there doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in the little ol' CVAC.

In any event, it should be a good game. Foard leads Hickory by one half game. With only one automatic playoff berth for a 3A team in this conference, this game is very important. There are a lot of really good players on both teams, and they know each other well. Both teams are playing well right now. The games are usually very tight. Mistakes are the difference maker.

Come check them out Thursday at 7:00pm at Troy Washam Field (HHS).:woohoo:

Pitching will be the key in this game.

Sorry to disagree with you but I do not think pitching is going to be the key. I think everyone knows that the pitchers for these teams are going to come out ready to go. The difference is going to be which team is able to come out and get a couple runs for the pitchers. In that regard, I think hitting is going to be the key in this game. It should be a great one, come out and watch at 7 at Hickory High School.

You are correct. Both those pitchers seem to get stronger as the game goes on. So, the score at the end of 2 just might be the ball game. What do you think?
