    Josh Salay Committs to Winthrop

Hard throwing RHP/1B Josh Salay 06 Rock Hill High School committed to Winthrop University. Winthrop is currently ranked #25 in the country by Baseball America and plays in the Big South Conference.

Josh is a long time member of the South Charlotte Panthers and has been near the top of the unsigned list of 06 players with both Impact Baseball and Diamond Prospects this spring.

Heard about a kid down in Hickory. Clay Smith. Great hitter--avg. and power. Also pitches. Lefty, I think. Don't think that he's signed. OF

There may be some question about his size and tools, but he has the quickest hands in NC and hits cleanup.

    Scotland County Centerfielder

Although centerfielder Ryan Norton has been getting some attention, he has yet to commit to any school. He is leading the #3 (past #1) 4a school in the state in batting average and homeruns! Not to mention he is SUPERFAST (6.8 or 6.9 per Liberty University) This guy deserves some pr even though Scotland players rarely post their individual stats. Great grades too!

Thomas Newsome is still unsigned and pitched yet another complete game today. He picked up his 6th win (all complete games) of the year. The kid is nasty. He doesn't throw hard but know the value of a changeup, and even has a double changeup that is unhittable. Someone needs to pick him up.

Scott Matthews - Senior at Myers Park

This kid is a ball player...he can play anywhere. Starts at short for Myers Park, he can play anywhere on the infield and has played outfield. He has also started several games behind the plate with a very good arm. He lead the team last year in hitting as a Junior and everytime I see a post for Myers Park he has been hitting the ball again this year.

This kid has "heart" and what a lot of players don't have....this kid has "want to"...he wants to be on the field and wants to play ball. Solid team player with good skills, attitude and the desire to play the game. I hope some team will give him a serious look.

    Justin Duncan

I posted on Justin Duncan RHP SR Riverside HS a couple of weeks ago. He threw a no hitter yesterday vs East Chapel Hill HS and now is 4-0 on the year. This guy can pitch.
