Observer Sweet 16 - week 4 results - pick week #5

hey squid, i think if you were at the richmond senior game, you would've seen alittle fire in their (char. christian) belly's; that was a very intense game between the little country club boys and a big strong public school like rich. sr and emotions ran high, and the benches eventually cleared haha

if both teams make it to the championship round, it could be a great game

 

South Caldwell vs. Char Christian

If these two teams match up against each other in the Shelby tournament, then it will definitely be a very intense game. South Caldwell is very good and definitely can do a bit of talking as they are undefeated and are #1 in the 4A polls. But what i dont understand is why anyone would ever consider taking Charlotte Christian lightly and refer to them as the Country Club School. Yes, they started 1-3, but they are now 14-5. They are 13-2 their last 15 games. South Caldwell might seem like the team to pick for some people because they are undefeated... but I like Christian because of their depth in their lineup, and they seem to be getting back on track. If these two teams meet it will definitely be a battle until the last out is made.

 

i weren't there but from what I heard it took sumthing to get them riled up, an ump or something the green and yella team did. from wht i seen, they just doesn't show up stoked. they got a nice field, they got nice unis and they are probobly nice kids. but when it comes to gettin it on, they just dont strike me as hungree

 

#7 Charlotte Christian defeated #11 Piedmont 10-1 last night. Bryant Gaines pitched and got the win, and three different knights had homeruns. Gaines hit an opposite field HR, Tyler Kirkpatrick hit a homerun down the left field line, and Max Fulginiti (5 RBI) pulled a HR down the right field line. Adam Hill (sophomore shortstop who is a stud) went 4-4 with RBI while Jared Bard hit 2 doubles and Charles Bradley beat out an infield single and singled to left. If this hitting vs Piedmont doesnt make you think that CCS is hungry then I dont know what else will. Best of luck to the Knights and the rest of their season.
