Both pretty good outfielders heard vogler is recruited by East Carolina. This young man plays hard. Plays for Mocksville Legion in the summer.

I have not heard if Vogler is being recruited by East Carolina, I don't think he is really being recruited by anyone so far. Too bad, he is a very hard player, maybe someone will pick him up over the summer.

    pretty solid

Their names are Kurt Benton (CF), Jake Byrd (RF), and Quan Sturdivant (LF). Benton is a senior and has played all 4 years on Varsity; Byrd, the other senior has started in right the past 2 years. Sturdivant is a junior, and has started in left the past 3 years on Varsity. These young men are athletes...all 3 played football this year for West Stanly. Benton led NC in tackles, Byrd was WS's leading reciever, and Sturdivant has been an all-state quarterback the past 2 years (he's already recieved offers from NC State, Carolina, and Virginia, with the SC Gamecocks and Florida looking to make offers very soon). It could possibly be the quickest and most athletic outfield in NC. Sturdivant's D-I quarterback arm in left, Benton is one of WS's aces on the mound (throws mid-80's) and his arm is strong and accurtate in the outfield, and Byrd may have the strongest arm of the 3 in right...just ask the Charlotte Christian guy he gunned out by 45 ft. (not exaggerating) earlier in the year. 88hotbat88, i think you're correct about only having 3 errors between them, it may be less. I've seen these guys use their speed to run down balls that should have easily been doubles and triples all year.
As far as their bats go...as of the last stats I've seen...Benton is leading WS with a .456 avg. and 17 rbi. Byrd has 18 rbi in the 7th spot in the lineup, and is batting around .380. Sturdivant is WS's #3 man in the lineup, and has batted over .400 as a freshman and sophmore (that's just by picking up a bat middle of Feb. after football and basketball finish). He's on his way to doing the same as a junior. I'm not positive about the 15 homeruns. I think it may be more along the lines of 10-12 between them. ...Great outfield group, wish these guys could get some more college attention.

John Stamper at West may be one of the best outfielders I have seen in a while. runs a 6.5-6.6 60yd has a good arm and has hit over .400 for three years (he is only a junior)

even though this is an outfield segment I will also have to mention Matt Sapp, the shortstop at West. Great leadoff hitter. on base % this year is over .700, 19 stolen bases, smooth in the field and hits the ball well.

Centerfielder from Freedom high school has excellent speed and can cover a lot of ground in the outfield. I think he is batting over.400 this year. Is the leadoff batter. Not a lot of attention coming from Freedom but Great Athlete.

CJ Beatty over at Glenn High School. He will be playing for the Aggies of NC A&T State next year. This kid is a switch hitting centerfielder with a cannon for an arm and good speed as well. Not to mention he can SHELLACK a baseball if its even close to the zone.

    ?

Who's the centerfielder for Independence. That guy had a definite D-I arm when I saw him earlier in the year. Is he going anywhere to play college ball?
