    Kerley Pitches No Hitter

    Alexander Central 4
    St Stephens 0

Cougar Sr. Cameron Kerley pitches a no hitter and goes 2-3 at the plate including a homerun. What a night, it's something he can take to his grave.
Alexander will play the top seed, Fred T Foard Tuesday night.:woot: :woot: :woot:

    Fred T Foard 10 Maiden 0

Fred T Foard cruises behind the pitching of Andrew Wyant and 15 hits by the Tiger's offense. Wyant gave up 5 hits while striking out 6 and giving up just one walk.

Brian Dice and Trent Rothlin led Foard at the plate with 3 hits each. Justin Wharton, Ben Lilly, Aaron King, and Andrew Wyant had 2 hits a piece.

Next up for Foard (15-2, 10-1) will be the always tough Alexander Central Cougars at 7:30 Tuesday.

    Fred T Foard 3 Alexander Central 2

Ben Lilly drove in the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the 8th to help the Tigers slip by the Cougars. Winning pitcher Trent Rothlin came in relief of Aaron King with the bases loaded and no one out in the fourth. He escaped that jam and continued the rest of the game scattering 3 hits and striking out 10 - a very gutsy performance coming in cold from shortstop. Rothlin and Brian Dice each drove in a run for Foard.

Foard only managed four hits for the game. Dustin Harrington pitched 7 extremely strong innings (86-91mph - 13 Ks) for Alexander Central. He was replaced in the 8th by Aaron Millsaps.

Next up for Foard (16-2, 10-1) will be Mooresville in the championship game Wednesday night at 7:30.

Same old song for this years Cougar baseball team. They have lost a lot of tough games that over the years, they always, or nearly always won. Congtrats to Foard, they have a nice team buth the Cougars have a knack for losing late and more often than not, it has been a shaky defense to let the Cougars down. Harrington, and by the way his first name is Dustin, was very sharp. He can bring it and he did last night. Maybe the Cougars can start winning some of the close ones or they may be facing a losing season for the first time in a long time.

    Mooresville 3 Fred T Foard 2

Fred T Foard could only muster 4 hits against pitcher Chris Beaver in the championship game against the Blue Devils. Mitch Granger, Trent Rothlin, Jason Sprouse, and Tyler Buchanan (3B) had hits for the Tigers. Mooresville scratched their runs with 2 out in the 5th off of 5 straight hits (bloop double, two singles to center, and two infield hits). Ben Lilly took the complete game loss giving up two other hits during the rest of the game.

Trent Rothlin and Andrew Wyant were named to the All Tournament team from Foard.:trophy:

The Tigers (16-3, 10-1) return to conference play on Monday at Hibriten.
