    two lefthaders

Charlie Hill from Belmont's SouthPoint is one of the top lefthanders in the area. This kid knows how to pitch. It's not all about velocity, it is about locaton and movement. Carsson-Newman is getting a steal.

Matt "the swede" Bjorkstrom is another strong lefthander from Butler. He has shut down both Providence and South Meck.
These two will continue to get better as they play for Gary Robinson's Charlotte Express where Gary teaches and toughens kids to get ready for college baseball.

I got to see Bjorkstrom last night shut South Meck down...he did a great job keeping South Meck off stride mixing in a mid 80's fast ball and a very nice curve ball...

Is Matt a Senior....I'm sure someone will give this "lefty" a serious look.

Yes Matt is a senior, he committed to UNCC? (might be UNCG, someone help me) in the fall but I am not sure of his current status. Matt is a very effective pitcher when he keeps the ball down and works ahead in the count.

Yes, Matt has committed to UNC-G. This is a great time of year for players to start signing NLI. Colleges have a better picture of their needs and the amount of money they have for schollys. They become much more aggressive than in the winter and beginning of the spring

Johnson and Rothlin?sp who cares I have faced both since there freshman year and have seen a great deal of them. I'll give some stats though if you want me to. I had pretty good success against Rothlin throughout my career hitting around .400 with a couple doubles, but his control was the biggest problem I noticed as I watched him walk in runs every time we played against him. Johnson is a great pitcher I mean he has filthy stuff, but I hit a homerun off of him at home last year and one off the fence at stephens, since you asked. Also in the game at Stephens he took himself out of a 2-1 game which ended up giving us an easy win, that was my problem with him. I will admit though that my input on Bumgardner and Morris is biased based on being a right handed batter because I have never had problems hitting lefties. If you read my last post though I gave nothing but praise for Gibbs because of the way he pitches. He might grow into a pitcher with better stuff but from everything I've seen he pitches with alot of heart. We all know that everybody jumps on here trying to boost up the pitchers that they know and like, all I was trying to do was balance out what people think and give my input. If we believe everything everyones put on here then there are thousands of pitchers in the state with 90 mph fastballs and filthy stuff, which just isn't true.

    P.S.
South Caldwell-East Rutherford in the Shelby Easter Tournament was the best game I've ever seen, and the right hander from South Caldwell...Poovy(sp) was the real deal. Maybe even showing up Bumgardner hitting 94 mph and showing a great slider. Believe the fastball too cuz I was sitting beside the gun reading it.

Thomas Newsome picked up his 8th win of the season last night in relief to put him at 8-0 on the season.

Rothlin picks up another impressive win last night with with 15 big strikeouts for the FTF Tigers. All the pitching staff seems to be strong there. Keep it up Tigers!:trophy:

You just don't get it Shelby06

Maddy - Will never see college. Expect a $4-$5 million offer. I know a few scouts too.

Morris - Clemson bound. Maybe Coach Leggett fell into your "hype", but I doubt it. Maybe all the 12-15 scouts follow "hype" too.

PJ - "doesn't care enough"? He probably took himself out because he had 100+ pitch count. Anyone who truly knows Patrick knows he plays with more heart and desire than anyone. You said yourself you only won after he came off the mound.

Rothlin - also Clemson bound. Having his best year ever. Pick up a newspaper.

Gibbs - "nowhere near the talent level of the others" is not a compliment. Reread baseballman123's post for Ben's resume.

Leach - you got one thing right - his curveball is possibly the best in the state according to Impact Baseball's Andy Partin, St. Louis Cardinals scout.

All these boys with "potential" are heavily recruited and scouted by DI,DII, the Scouting Bureau and on Impact Baseball, ncpreps, etc. They have travelled all over the US showcasing themselves on HIGHLY competitive teams. Check out their ERA's, Wins, K's and BA's on ncpreps. Don't see too may 400+ BA's from Shelby, Crest or Burns.

P.S. Based on your post times, why aren't you in school?

23109...."Everybody" as you stated does not come on here trying to boost up the pitchers. Most of the post are from people seeing the game the night before and actually seeing the players perform...that's what the opinions are based from.

We welcome your opinions as well....however, it would be better to base them on what you have seen this year and not when you faced these guys last year or the year before....players change from one year to the next....especially pitchers.

RIGHT ON....shelby player.... I guess you are headed straight to the major leagues since these 6 pitchers are not a whole lot to you. These are just 6 of the top pitchers in the state, so I guess you are the best hitter in the state. Have you faced Rothlin this year???? His opponents batting average is less than .100. Have you faced ANY of these pitchers this year???? And as tigermom said....why aren't you in school, and where are you going to college(I doubt you are if you can hit these pitchers with such ease) but if you happen to have to go to college? Just wondering what college is going to be lucky enough to get the best hitter in the state...

PS- these pitchers are about 32-3 combined this year...
