Speaking of South Point, is Todd Palmer going to have an opportunity to play after high school?

    Clay Smith

Hickory High's pitcher Clay Smith will be heading to Western Carolina next year to play some ball. It is great seeing Clay get the chance to play after having sit out his whole junior year. Clay is an outstanding pitcher and should make a quick impact at Western. Congratulations to Clay and his family!!!

Congratulations, indeed! You can never have enough left handed pitching - especially those with quality breaking balls. Best wishes to Clay.....a real competitor!:ylsuper:

Matt Gragg signs with Walters State!

South Caldwell standout RHP Matt Gragg has signed to play baseball next season at Walters State Community College in Morristown, TN. Walters State is currently 49-6 on the year and ranked #4 in the nation in JUCO. This is a great opportunity for Matt and I am sure he will do great things at WS in the future.

Wow...some outstanding players signing this week. Congrats to Matt on his committment to Walter State. What a great baseball school and a very nice field as well.

Congrats to Robert Proffit who I have been following since his freshman year...plus I had the opportunity to babysit him last year for spring break. To his mom and dad; Robert was a perfect gentleman.

Good wishes to all the guys getting ready for the next level...your senior year went pretty quick..huh!

    Todd Palmer

Yes, Todd Palmer is going to play in college. He is South Point's catcher and is a quality defensive catcher and can swing the stick also. I heard that he may be signing with Blue Ridge CC soon.
