Our family is moving to the area in June from NJ. :woot: We have 3 girls who play softball. I have one entering HS, MS and Elemtary. Acadamecis are a high priority, then softball /Basketball programs come next.
These were the recommened schools for academics. I have only heard about 1 for softball. Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Providence HS
    Butler HS
    Audrey Kall HS
    Cabarrus Central HS

We are coming to look at houses next weekend, so any info would be helpful.

Also any good travel softball teams would be helpful as well.

    Kindest Regards,
    Nina.

Audrey Kell will be brand new for '06-'07. Academics should be the strongest of all the public high schools because of the scores the feeder schools have going in. Don't know about how they'll fair in sports. The school is located in one of the most affluent sides of town, so you'll be getting a bunch of suburbanites.

If looking for good softball programs I would go with the first 3 you have listed.

Providence HS- affluent, great academically. competitive softball
Butler- Great softball, good diversity (positive) of students
Kell- will become the new Providence HS. Have hired seasoned coaches in most sports. Great academically

On Deck is becoming THE team to join in Charlotte for softball. There are others that are very good. On Deck is a bit pricey, but you do get "bang for your buck"

Dawgfan is a coach for the Butler softball program. Perhaps he will give you more detailed information

    Welcome to the South

    travel org's

how about some of the established organizations like:

    Lady Blues
    Curve
    Carolina Comets
    Magic
    Copperheads
    CV Storm
    Denver Dazzle
most of these org's have multi age teams, try to keep your girls together in the same org. - less travel, same training, if i left someone out, sorry, these just instantly come to mind.
