2006 High School Softball Scores

    achs 1/ schs-0. sr day at ac! sr. dara elder singled to right after fouling off about 5 or 6 2 strike pitches, goes to 2ndon a pick off play, then scores on a single to left by fres. kirsten morris!!. emily pierce was almost unhittabld ! she had 16 k`s and gave up 1 hit. ac jv`s 10 sc jv 0. megan laxton tossed a no hitter! ashley benfield had 4 hits! ac `s jv`s are co champs of the nw4-a ! this is the 4th year in a row!

    I don't think anyone is trying to explain anything, other than the fact that given what was at stake(possible state playoff berth) with an 8 to 2 lead going into the 6th innning you would hope most coaches would do whatever it takes to close the deal. Not make wholesale changes.

    St. Stephens wins CVAC 2A/3A, and Foard & Maiden tie for 2nd.

    Central Cabarrus improved to 22-0, and extended the states longest winning streak to 78 games, as they defeated a tough, scrappy SW Randolph team tonite coming from behind 3-2 in the 5th. Chasity Covington hit a two run bomb that turned out to be the winning runs.
