    PROVIDENCE 11 Weddington 3--SW4A CHAMPS...

PHS's David Scism 2-3, 2 HRS, 5 RBIs and Eric Sommerville 2-3, 4 RBIs led the attack. Shane Small (8-0) continued his stellar pitching, going 6-solid innnings to gain his 8th Victory without a loss. Eric Sommerville hurled a scoreless 7th to secure the Victory and the SW4A Title. PHS REPEATs as SW4A Champs. They have also won the past two SW4A Conference Tourneys and will go for the 3-PEAT next Tuesday at Butler.

Weddington's Offense was led by Blake Stickly 2-3, 2 HRs, 3 Rbis; Scott Summey 4-4; and Nick Fogelman 2-3.

The WIN leaves the Panthers 19-4 Overall on the season and atop SW4A CHAMPS w a 9-3 record. Tha Panthers wound up 25-5 last year, so I'd say Coach Hignight has been doing something right!!

Congrats to Providence. Great program, and great coach. Best of luck to you guys in the playoffs.

gbacks21...have you heard how Micheal Moore, Cory Dunning, and Mitch Besseliever (can't ever spell his name right) are doing at their respective D-I schools? Great young men, w/ a lot of talent.

    South Granville vs Northern Vance

    SG 5
    NV 2

South Granville defeated Northern Vance in Henderson 5-2 Friday afternoon. Mike Robbins went the distance allowing only 1 hit and 1 er. South Granville got the win in spite of a very lackluster performance at the plate. SG managed only 5 hits in the game. Pratt Maynard 1-3 HR (6) Jeff May 2-4 HR (10). May finishes the regular season hitting .507 on the year with 10 hr's 34 rbi's and 18 bb's. South Granville finishes the regular season 17-7 overall and 9-1 in the Mid State 3-A conference. This has been a great season so far for us. We are so young it is ridiculous. Only two sr's on the team and only one sr starter. Two Jr starters five soph starters and one freshman starter. Hopefully we can make a good run in the playoffs this year. Im very proud of this group of young men they worked their butts off in the off season and have come a long way as a team. Right now we are tied for first place in the conf with Southern Alamance which played at B. Williams tonight. We can finish no worse than tied for first in the conf standings. Its been a blast and hopefully we have alot more baseball to play this season.

West Stokes' senior night got rained out tonight. I'm not sure when we'll be making it up. I'm guessing next Monday or Wednesday.
