    a side note to that mooresville jv squad is that they played the season without at least two of their best players (both freshmen) who got moved up to varsity before the season even began. but we won it in 2002 also and fell way short when time for varsity ball rolled around the following two years. i hope they do well, i know quite a few of those boys. i'm hearing whispers of a coaching change at mooresville in a year or so. coach b is good man and i know he loves those kids and works hard at trying to do his job. there has been a slow but steady movement at mooresville to upgrade everything from the facilities to the baseball program in general. lots of kids playing travel ball from an early age coming up now and into the program. some private investors and hands on volunteering, donations, sweat, but more is needed. its tough competition when you play the likes of NW Cabarrus and W. Rowan on a regular basis. lots to do.

    didn't win it in 02....came in second in 03 and 04....won it outright this year....1st since 1999.

    you're right about that. mooresville was tied with NWC for the top spot in 03 but lost the final game of the season at home to Lake Norman to slip into second place. thanks
