Good job to the lady patriots on your win!!! Freedom's freshman pitched a shut-out with some great defense that backed her up... Ford made some great catches in the outfield and an awesome throw from right-center to 2nd to get the out... WAY TO GO LADIES!!!!!

Game 2: Alexander Central vs. Freedom 7pm

As far as talented team...South is good but not as good as in the past. If you go back to the 2003 and 2004 teams, they were the most talented (look at what Pritchard and Adams are doing at WCU). II school ten miles from South (L-R) and they are not recruiting anyone from South so that might tell you a little about the talent level. Not to take anything away from South....good kids, who play hard and are competitive every night. They stay out of trouble, they work hard, and they compete. As a parent or fan, that is all you can ask for out of a team and its coach.

If you have a kid at South and are not happy, then transfer her. If you dislike the coach that bad, then schedule a meeting with the AD, the principal, and the coach and discuss your frustrations/concerns. The turmoil you speak of is more than likely from the coaching change and seniors are loyal to the former coach. But lets face it, Mikey ran the team while he was there then Rick ran the team after that. Not to take anything away from Cole, but he was more of a faculty representative that drove the bus. The major improvment that Brookshire can make is to get rid of the assistants that bad mouth her behind her back and continue to build her program.

There are no volunteer COACHES theres a volunteer COACH and as far as I know he has not bashed either of the coaches behind there back. I have however witnessed McKertcher giving instructions or advice and seeing both coaches RUN over to Reinstruct or Readvise the foolish babble that McKertcher just spoke. Coach Brookshire is just beginning and I do think she is a smart cookie, she'll learn from her many mistakes this year, and it will make her a better coach but getting rid of Benfield would be the worst mistake she could ever do. If for nothing else he is needed to run behind McKertcher and correct all the STUPID coaching advise he gives the girls.
As far as the turmoil.....well lets just say most of it is more frustration and it is indeed caused by the constant contradicting that both Brookshire and Benfield have to do to correct the ridiculous stuff McKertcher tells the girls. I'm just hoping that the first gutsy thing the new head coach does is get rid of McKertcher at least until he plays a little softball himself or attends some coaching workshops! McKertcher has got more girls out at 2nd base than Emily Beck has in all her years of catching. For the love of God get that man off 1st base! PLEASE!!!

We sometimes cross over the line in what is said or not said or what is implied or not implied on TBR. Of course those of us who have been on here awhile have learned from our mistakes and try to be more careful of who we name or call out on this board. Hopefully you will understand that this may cause more harm than good by naming someone and basically blasting them on this board. I noticed this was your first post and hopefully you will post more but try to curb the negativity. Yes, we do get a little passionate on here sometimes but we do refrain or attempt to refrain from calling people out. If you see something that bothers you on here try the 24 hour rule. By, this I mean wait 24 hours and see if you still feel the same or as angry.

For the FIRST time EVER SC finished next to last in the conference and lost in the first round of the tournament and I promise you it wasn't because of a lack of talent. I saw these same girls win all summer and fall in travel ball. Every varsity player on the team can tell you what the problem was. What a wasted season. If you have any idea about how to play this game you could see what was wrong just by watching the games. Mistake after mistake after mistake at 3rd and first base. Especially at 3rd

Reynolds scores in the bottom of the 7th to win. Good pitching match up as Reilly and Bombace allowed 7 hits between them with 3 earned runs. Good luck AC and Alexander in the finals and ACR, ACHS, and Freedom in the state tourney.
