Would like to let everyone about two great weeks for Softball camps and tourneys in WNC. These are outstanding opportunities to include softball around vacation time in the cool mountains of WNC.

First, by popular demand Coach David Williams has decided to open his High School Team Camps up to travel ball teams. The dates of these camps are June 25-30 and July 23-28. These camps will be an opportunity for teams to come to camp together and recieve instruction as well as play games for an entire week. The costs will include 5 nights of lodging and 14 meals for each player as well as all game and instructional fees, trophies, and souviner tee shirt for each player. The head coaches for each team will be able to stay for free. Asst. coaches will have a nomial room and board fee. College coaches involved in the camp instructions will be Coach Williams, Coach Shane Prescott of Pfeiffer, Coach Crystal Lingerfelt of Montreat, and Marie Watson Pitching Instructor. There will be players from Mars Hill and Pfeiffer helping as well. There will be games and instruction times throughout the week as well as evening events such as HR derby, Fastest kid, team relays, and others. Trophies will be given for Camp MVP, Golden Glove, Slugger, HR Derby, Fastest Kid in Camp, and from the games Team Trophy for Camp Champions and Runner-Up. Space is limited to the first 16 teams per camp. Teams from NC, SC, VA, TN, GA, and KY have been invited.

Check-in for each camp week will be late on Sunday to allow for teams playing in weekend tourneys to be involved. Camp will end at noon on Fridays to allow for travel to the next tourney.

Surrounding these weeks of camps is an ASA Showcase and regular Tourney. ASA is following the June 25-30 camp with a first ever showcase tourney in WNC at North Buncombe High School. The Fabulouos 4th Mountain Showcase will be held on June 30th through July 2nd. This is a 16U-18U showcase. It will be a 4 game guarantee. For all cost and info on these camps and tourneys, contact Coach Williams at 828-689-1320 or email him at [email protected]

There are other ASA Tourneys that will be held at NBHS park as soon as the other dates are worked out. These will be open to 12U-18U. They will be added to this thread as dates are confirmed.

On June 21, CSR is hosting an Individual Showcase camp at Mars Hill as a qualifier for the Queen of Diamonds South Showcase (formerly Ringor) on Labor Day weekend. This camp will be video taped and skills tapes will be made available for purchase. For more info on this camp or other CSR Diamond Dreams Showcase camps go to our website at www.csrllc.net and look under the camps section.

    Showcase Update

Spoke with Coach Williams this morning and he informs me that there has been a large response from coaches for the June30-July2 Fun 4th Showcase. It seems that it will fill up fast. If you have not contacted him and are interested in this showcase, you may want to call him as soon as possible as space will be limited.

He says he has also recieved a lot of responses about the Team Camps. Looks like this will be a good week of softball in the Mountains..
