    in NC travel ball ive seen some very strong leftys.like to know who are ranked amoung the best.

    slapper?

    if you're talking about left-handed slap hitting, the best I've seen in our conference (the Greater Neuse 4A) is Heidi Garcia of East Wake HS, who's headed to Georgetown Univ. on a softball scholarship. She has a teammate (don't know name) that is also very good at slapping, she plays 2nd base.

    I was surprised the other day at a middle sch. game, I saw very successful slap-hitting.

    Laronda McClain, senior, Kings Mtn. slap and run, stick and pound, on base percentage around .900 last year in travel, great contact hitter. go ra ra full ride to wingate, and oh yeah, equal opportunity hitter (right or left)

    Power hitting wise i would say Allison Presnell (Central Cabarrus) 2nd all time in nc history hit her 21st homerun tonite and Kristi Woodall (Hopewell) two of the best ive seen.

    Have to put a plug in for Ashley Angel,good slapper with speed.Maybe she'll be back for playoffs.

    This 1 is in college,but 1 of the best I've ever saw,Lindsey Gay.Could take off & twirl bat completely around her body before drag bunting,could really slap too with speed to match.

    Courtney Feldon of North Lincoln has a really hot bat, and young Melissa Hunter from Crest is really coming on. Both have lots of power, so it's hard to make them slap all the time. I say "Grip it, and Rip it!"

    Oh, and by the way, I think Courtney Tate is every bit the equal of Laronda as far as getting on base, which is what slappers are supposed to do. Both of them give Kings Mtn. a weapon that most other teams don't have.

    Reagans Kayla Nelson for slapping and Amber Hawkins for power

    Reagan's new team has a great slap hitter in Kayla Nelson, this is the first year this junior has started slapping and she can hit a beautiful slap right over 2nd base to the outfield, have seen a few go to the fence.
    Amber Hawkins Junior for Reagan as well is a great power hitter for Reagan this year, scored the first homerun over the fence for the team early in the season.

    I agree, Courtney Feldon is one of the best natural left handed hitters around. Go Courtney!!! I also agree with LaRhonda Mclain and Courtney Tate. Both of these girls can FLY!!!! Bring it Home again!!!:trophy: :trophy: :trophy:
