NSA ??????????????????????

I been around travel softball a long time. Back when slow-pitch changed over to fast-pitch. I've had two dd age out. My last dd is playing now.
So I know a little about NSA,USSSA,ASA,WFC,PONY,and so on. We play
NSA allot because seems like everybody wants to play it. I don't know why the cost of their tournaments are more then the others. Like this past week Statesville one day $235 3 game. They told you 2 pool play
then single elimination. They didn't tell you who you were playing in the single elimination, they put the top ranked teams in one bracket the lower
ranked teams in the other. So alot of the best teams went home. The
Burlington tournament the week before was a bad deal also. NSA has always made some bad decisions. You can talk to them put they pay you no attention. But that's a another story.
The reason I'm writing about this. I thing people need to be informed,
there's more then one organization check out WFC, USSSA, ASA. I've seen 6 game format $200, 5 game $300, One day tournaments $180 more games for your dollars.

 

Too many sanctions

I really think everyone should evaluate what there intentions are when they play. If you are playing so you can compete with the best competition then you need to start playing in the ASA Sanction and stay away from the ones who will let anyone in that has money.

If you are in it just to get in some games, then play whatever you want but I really believe the rest of the sanctions are in it to turn the money more than run quality events with quality umpires and facilities.

In some sanctions we have played, they only had one field with lights so you had to play 2 days and get charge a $5 gate fee for both days regardless of how many games were being played that day.

Other sanctions only require you to play in one event and the state tournament and you can go to the world series regardless if you can compete and then make you play a powerhouse team early just so you can go home early.

 

Do the stronger teams want to play weaker teams to make there record look better or do you want to play better teams to make your team better in the long run.

 

Any coaching staff and team worth their "salt" wants to get better by playing better teams. My kids team is even playing up to get tougher competition.
