First one of the playoffs so far, 12-14 Cary knocked off Clayton, 6-1.

Ashbrook takes the the Sabres 8-4. Saved Morris for the next game, I wouold think that every top coach by now would know that you win the game today before looking at the next one.

Great career by Morris, Layman and Andress, just needed a coach.

I am somewhat surprised that Broughton beat Riverside.

I respect your opinion coach, but people around this area have been saying for the last couple of years that this would be "Broughton's year".

    Sorry

Sorry DBack, I hate it for Ryno, I do have respect for all of those Seniors and also the Juniors. I just think that the SM coach is the most over-rated coach in NC. He is leaving his alma-matta to coach a new school where all the talent will be going. A mediocre coach can win with mediocre players, but a mediocre coach cannot win with great players, which is what SM had over the years.

SM will be loaded again this year, as they return their top hitters, Moody to pitch, they will have the pitcher from Olympic, and a Chris McIntyre that lived in Charlotte and moved to Ohio is moving back to Charlotte and will be atending SM. He has won Ohio player of the week three times, big lefty throws 96 mph. Has struck out in 42 innings 96 of 126 batters faced, if he is that good, he will dominate.

    honker,

We will just have to "agree to disagree" on this subject....My wish remains that regardless of your personal opinions of Coaches or players don't use this forum for "bashing"....

As I stated before, Bag's record, conference he plays in, players at the next level speaks for itself. I know in talking with him the choice to move from a program he truly loved was one of the toughest decisions he has had to make....the man did what he thought was best for his family and I respect him for that.

I can't speak for all players but I do know Ryan respects the man tremendously and never wanted to play High School ball for anyone else.

Put this one to rest for now...we will have to wait and see how the schools prevail in the upcoming years....

    About last night

You can blame anyone you would like to for the Sabres loss last night, but it all comes down to what these players come off the field with. Let's hope that this year, if they've learned anything, it's not about winning, it's about succeeding. I've watch the seniors of the South Meck team grow and become men over the years, and I admire them. A true baseball player, a true athlete, knows that you can't always win but you can always learn something, whether it be from a coach, teammates, or yourself. Congrats seniors on your baseball season. It's time to look forward to a new era.
