    cc...class act

as for the actions of the cc team on Tuesday night....the players and fans were a class act from start to finish...you know it was hard to stomach that the state champs had to travel at ALL to regain their spot in Raleigh....as for the coach....from warmups to the last pitch he left an impression that many will not forget...the NDHS area was used to a hardnosed coach but they had no idea what they were in for...some might view it as abusive...maybe thats what got him where he is today...but it sure does leave a bad taste in alot of mouths...maybe thats why he can't stay put....AC...CC...??...yes these girls are competitors but they are also human...how would he have felt if he had hit his SS in the eye with one of those line drives he hit her extra hard because she didn't field the 1st one clean...then he would have sacrificed his lineup just to prove a point...how smart is that....you know you can whip your dog for misbehaving but there is a fine line between discipline and abuse and eventually that dog might bite the hand of the owner.....Lambros has mellowed over the years {20 plus heading up the same very successful program} but he was never as close to the edge as Monte...it may have cost him in the past..who knows...but he never lost respect of the fans or his players because he over stepped his boudaries....I think the well decorated troops from CC thought they would win the fight when they came to Welcome but they went home with a country a@@ whoopin...and as for the elbow jab to the scorekeeper...yea we witnessed it right along with the FU that followed...but thats ok....our scorekeeper is still keeping score....Monte's is retired for the year.......GOOD LUCK NDHS

Why is it hard to stomach that the state champs had to travel at all to regain their spot in Raleigh..... I didn't hear KM say anything about having to travel all the way to Ashville to Play Enka. How far did CC travel? And when is it their spot in Raleigh? Everyone has to earn that spot.

Now as far being a hard nosed military type coach. I do not have a problem with that. It is obvious that the girls on the team do not mind that type. If they did then why would they play for him in the first place. CC knew his coaching style when they hired him. If they don't have a problem with it then nobody else should.

First - he never made my life unhappy. I have just been jabbing at a couple of the fans here. I did not think they would think I was serious about any of it.

Second - After this year I will no longer have a dog in th game (my DD is a senior).

Hey Catfish, Where do you get that I am hiding behind "CAN AM". At almost all games that I go to I have a Can-Am Sports hat on. If you can't find me, ask someone & they will point me out. Most people know me as this name and not my real name. Were did I say What Monte did after the game. Someone else posted their observations & I just responded with my opinion.

On the subject of sportsmanship, Rangeroo-
I would say that AC Reynolds is tops in that department.
We really enjoyed our games against you this year-you have some great young ladies.
I will miss the prayer circle at the end of each game-it was really special for both teams-I hope AC keeps up that tradition.

    Prayer Circle after games

Thanks EnkaMom12. I,too think the prayer circle after games between BOTH teams is a GREAT thing. It gives the competitors a chance to reminisce about what's really important when the game is over. We enjoy playing you guys too. Enka is a great community with wonderful young ladies who excel every year and set a great example for the up and coming girls to follow.
    :agreed:

    CC approach to the game

I haven't seen CC play since Walnut Creek last year. No one can question the success but, overall, approach seems "over the top". I remember seeing one picture of the team in front of an army helicopter . . . get real. I wonder how many innings other pitchers threw aside from GA this season. The scores reveal that it wouldn't mattered much who threw in most games so why not give the younger kids a shot since GA has already signed. Of course, the answer is that CC needed to demonstrate dominance to maintain the national ranking. I attended the ACC tournament in Chapel Hill two weekends ago. I know L Navas is one tough lady but was impressed at how loose she was on the field. I think State's play reflected her confident, relaxed style. I will say that M Sherrill had better stay in HS. I don't think his act would play long at all with college players.
