    USA Today/NFCA High School Top 25 Poll

    The USA Today/National Fastpitch Coaches Association High School Top 25 is compiled by state representatives from across the country. Records are as of May 23. Among the criteria considered are a school's strength of schedule, the quality of competition in its state or league, and the quality of its players.

    Meaning?

    Has anyone who determines these rankings seen more than two or three of these teams play? I doubt it. Obviously CC is no better today than ND (that's why the game was played, right?) but ND is not ranked? Who really knows who the best teams are. This is not like college football where everyone sees teams on TV. These rankings are a nice honor for those teams that are ranked but are not to be taken seriously.

    Then I guess the other NFCA polls are also a joke... Right??

    Yes, Leon Davis writer for the polls has seen several of the teams play he actually came to Central Cabarrus and i spoke with him also. The polls arent about one game, Everyone knows anyone can beat anyone on any given day. The rankings are earned over the course of the past 4 years, by winning 114-5 and also 83 consecutive games among other accomplishments.

    Read my post!

    I didn't say these "polls" were a joke. In fact, I said they were a nice honor for the teams recognized. People just shouldn't take them literally and think the #1, 2 or 3 team is really any better than number 5 or 25 team. There is really no possible way determine this given that there are literally thousands of FP teams in the US>

    The fact that you imply CC's record over the past four years is a factor in thier ranking this year (which, of course, is true) argues against the validity of the poll since it should be based only on this season's team.

    Today Keller High School can say it's ranked #1 in the USA Today Poll. They should not tell people they are best FP team in America.

    I agree any team can be beaten on any given day...if it's not in the cards it not in the cards...nobody is going to win everything they play...and if they do they aren't playing teams that are equally matched to their talent. One thing I've learned about girls is_______________________ , Exactly !!!!
