    PINEVILLE 9 NEWELL 8

For the 2nd night in a row Pineville jumped out to an early lead. Newell fought back to take the lead only to see Pineville rally for 4 runs in the top of the eighth to retake the lead for good. Newell rallied for 2 in the bottom of the ninth and had the winning run on 2nd, but Jesse Miller induced an infield pop-up for the last out.

Offensively, Pineville was led by Anthony Guglielmi 3-5, HR; Reid Rollison 3-6, 2B; Max Fulginiti 3-5, 2B; and Keith Mauney 3-5, 2B.

Offensively, Newell was led by Robby Bray 2-5, HR 5 RBIs; and Bollinger 2-4.

    Starting Pitchers: Laymen (P) v Bray (N)
    WP: Layman (P)
    Save: Miller (P)
    LP: Noll (N)

    Pineville 2 2 0 0 0 1 0 4 0 .. 9 18 4
    Newell ....0 0 0 2 0 4 0 0 2 .. 8 7 2

    PINEVILLE 337 now 5-0
    NEWELL is now 0-2.

7 errors and numerous walks hurt Post 36 tonight...they gave Post 45 several chances and they capitalized on those chances...

Jared Barnes 3 for 4 2 run HR

    Plays at West Forsyth Tuesday

Agree TJ. Lexington can swing the bats. Lex threw their #4 starter Clay Watson last night, which probably didn't affect the result. But Clay doesn't usually give up many fly balls, so that wasn't his A game. (Of course I thought Garrett was missing badly with his nasty slider early on).

The 1st home run off Sherrill was hit by Andrew Hunt who is headed to Lenoir Rhyne to pitch. The other was by Zack Briggs, a rising junior at Central Davidson. Remember that name...Zack will play D1 baseball somewhere. He can flat out lash. His right center gap power is as good as I've seen. He hit .360 with 9 HR's last year for Post 8 as a rising sophmore.

Kannapolis-12 over Eastern Randolph-11 last night in Ramseur. Kannapolis improves to 5-2 overall (still 3-1 in division). Jerod Faggart hit his 8th homerun of the young season while Connor Bean and Andrew Lawing added homeruns for Ktown. Kannapolis has now hit 18 homeruns as a team thru the 1st 7 ballgames.

'nuther big game tonight at Mocksville.

Dbacks,,,, it must be the famous nanner puddin from a local restaurant called the Townhouse. Whatever it is, I hope it lasts all summer.

You guys are off to a nice start also,,,,, no surprise there. Good Luck in Area 4.
