    I Agree

You beat me to it ! I agree 100%. You are not comparing apples..
Butler has a much better hitting team w/ at least four D-1 players.
I have seen both of these outstanding pitcher/players in action.
There are both AWESOME...In my book ,Moe is the Queen of the rise...

    1A

if east Surry doesn't win the 1A state it will surprise me... a team that would would seriously conend for the 2A 3A and 4A state as well.

    North Pitt

In 2A, North Pitt will be tough to beat. They have a pitcher in Faith Sutton that has won some very big games on a national level during the summer. That experience will carry over well for her and the rest of the team.

    Picks

1A: I think the State title game was already played with N. Moore/ E Surry. E Surry won, so they are now my pick.

2A: After losing to N. Pitt Monday, like to think they'd win it all. Sure make us feel better. However, my money's on C Davidson. If N. Pitt wins it all, I bet there are some long games in the process.

3A: Any team that beat S Alamance is my pick: Harnett ( No offense to Western group - don't know anybody out that way)

4A: N. Davidson in 4A. Played against the pitcher in travel ball 5 years ago, she was special back then.

    does classification matter?

we'll never see it, but what are opinions on how a double-elimination tourn. would go with all 4 classification winners involved? does classification really matter when comparing one on one matchups?
I think that you can come up with "special" 1A/2A teams from time to time that could compete evenly with the 3A & 4A.

I think on any given day anybody can be beat, I don't care if you are a 1A or 4A they are girls and girls just like boys can be off a game or two, and it just might be the game that sends them home...there are no perfect teams, if there were it would be HEAVEN !!!!!......... EOC ( End Of Conversation)...

I'm not ripping you BUT I will say not all State champs will come from the west!!

I have seen many (TEAMS) play together. I also know many Coaches thru travel ball and school ball. One COACH has stood out to me as being one of the best FASTPITCH COACHES I have had the priveledge of knowing and MY DD has had the Priveledge of being Coached by. COACH TOM ROPER with Pender High School (1A) which is on the EAST COAST has got to be ranked up there with some of the best High School/Travel Ball Coaches in North Carolina. He sincerly cares for each girl on his team and is one of the best Coaches of this game I know. So!!! I am not ripping you because you may end up correct. But I will say this we played 3 playoff games shutting out 3 very talented teams to get here I believe this is the year of the patriots.... So 3 for the WEST and 1 for the EAST.

Mike-- You are a trip and always will be a trip...yes there are a few talented teams in the east....Carolina Cougars, Carolina Wildcats just to mention a few, but most of the guns are located west of I-95 to the Mountains of N.C., there just isn't a great pool of talent east of Raleigh like there is from Fuquay to Asheville....anyway Good Luck to you and your family.............Softball Guru
