seems like a good a place as any to talk about it.

Just heard that Elon took out Mississippi 5-4 today in Game One. Elon has had a great season and I know they have quite a few local players on the roster.

and Winthrop smacked UNCW 14-2. I'm sure they are loving getting another shot at UNC tomorrow if the Heels take care of business.

also saw that State lost 7-2 to Stanford.

    Winthrop and the Heels Rematch?

Looks like a possible Winthrop and Carolina rematch tomorrow if the Heels beat Maine, with freshman All American Alex Wilson pitching for the Eagles and Miller (likely) or Bard on the mound for the Heels. Wow, that should be a heck of a game. Hey Braves, what time does the bus leave for Chapel Hill in the morning? :bananalam

    Winthrop Eliminates UNC-W

Winthrop scored three in the top of the ninth to eliminate the Seahawks, 5-3. Wilmington lead 3-2 in the bottom of the eighth, and with a runner on 3rd and 1 out, their next two batters struck out looking. That was a killer.

There is no quit in this Winthrop team......they're tough. They may beat the Heels and Dan Bard later today and play the Heels again tomorrow for the Regional championship.

    Heels Over Eagles

The Heels ended a good season for Winthrop, 14-2. Those Tar Heel bats were hot all weekend. I noticed Winthrop centerfielder Tommy Lentz was not in the lineup yesterday. Was he out with an injury?

UGA wins 3 straight games against Jacksonville and then 2 against Florida State with their #3, 4, and 5 pitchers who are all freshman. I can't believe Jonathan Wyatt didn't get drafted. He's nasty and it should be a good series against South Carolina. UGA is 4-0 against them this year but they came back from a 9-0 deficit in the SEC tournament to beat them. Games start Saturday in Athens. Who were the National seeds that have been knocked out? Nebraska was the #6 and Texas was #3 right?

To say the least. There have already been several dramatic games in the Supers. 3 ACC teams already in. Hope Miami makes it 4.

Miami could make it 4 and don't forget, NC State knocked out Texas.

That's a pretty good showing for the ACC. I know State didn't make it to Omaha, but knocking out Texas gets them a lot of national respect as well.

Good luck to GT, Clemson and Miami. Carolina on the other hand.... ;)

Something that amazes me is that a little state like SC can have 3 schools in the Super Regionals...says a lot about the talent in our region
