    tj21,

Would you agree reading the different score there are some very good players back to play Legion for almost every team this year that were not there last year...man it's great to see that. Should make for a great race all around the state.:woohoo:

Dbacks20,,, you are exactly right. Its been very noticable that many talented players who haven't ever tried the legion circuit are giving it a try this summer. Its great for legion ball to have more talent, and as I've always said I'm quite sure those boys will have a great time also playing every night with their buds and knocking heads with crosstown rivals. Should be an exciting year. Good Luck and looking forward to seeing you guys later this month in Ktown.

dbacks brings up a very good point. I believe more people have come to realize that Legion ball and Showcase can co-exist. With perhaps the exception of one's rising Senior summer, it makes a lot of sense to play Legion in the summer and showcase in the fall. I think more and more people are coming to this realization and it's showing in the returnees to Legion teams.

Some of these scores have shown that Legion ball has maybe over extended itself a little bit. I'm sure if some of these teams were to come back together things would be a lot more competitive. I know it won't happen, but it'd be interesting to see how different things would be.

Personally, I see three schools of thought here. 1) You have the hard-core legion guys. Their summer consists of legion baseball - period. 2) You have the hard-core showcase guys. They think showcase in the summer is the best way to be seen by the most coaches..... and 3) You have the guys that have gone the showcase route, have made their college choice and want to play legion their last summer for one last hurrah with their buddies. I think there are alot of these #3's this year (especially in Area III) - several guys in K-town, Wade Moore, Addison Johnson etc. I love it. I'm glad the best are playing legion, even if only for one year. Makes for some great games and some marquee matchups.

I personally think if these guys would have played legion their entire career they would have signed with the same schools they did anyway, but that is neither here nor there.
