Any scout looking for a catcher to sign or maybe sign as a "Draft and Follow" please e-mail me at [email protected] I am an assistant coach in West Virginia for a 2A team. I have a kid that has won every accomplishment that a player can win, but for some reason is being overlooked. Please just e-mail if interested, as I can give you all of his stats and his individual times.

If he's a pro prospect, hard to believe he's been overlooked by pro and college scouts. Has he signed to play college ball?

He plays for a AA (double) baseball team here in W.V. He is signing with WV State this week. He just got named WV player of the year, and was the MVP of the North/South All-Star game today. He may play for the Huntington Hounds this summer, so he can go to the Perfect Game in Georgia..Runs a 6.9-6.10 sixty, and has a 1.9 POP time..Hit .560 with 12 homers and 52 RBI's this past year..Solid player, its just that WV players get overlooked because of where we play..I coached a few years ago at ACHS and if he had played there this year then he would be going to a major D-1 school at worst..

    Hurricane, W.V.

Hurricane, W.V. has recently produced two good ballplayers in Winthrop University stars Daniel Carte (outfielder) and Alex Wilson (pitcher). Carte was a 2nd round pick of the Colorado Rockies last year, and Wilson just finished his freshman year with a 13-3 record, earning 3rd team All-American honors.

A "draft and follow" with a high school player is only good if the player goes to a junior college. The mlb team holds the rights of the player until a week before the draft (of the following season). If a high school player (whether drafted or not) attends a four-year college, they are not eligible for the draft until after their junior year or they turn 21.

With numbers like that, it is hard to believe he is being overlooked. It also is not a bad thing to go to COLLEGE. Many kids today think that all that matters is getting drafted and getting $$$. GO TO COLLEGE!! College baseball is a once in a lifetime thing. If a kid is a true player, he will get drafted out of college. Why not go to college and get better THEN try to make the next step? IMO, if a kid out of high school is lower than a 1-2 round, then they should go to college and develop more as a player. I just wish kids saw the true meaning of college as a stepping stone to later things in life, instead of viewing it as something to "fall back" on if they don't get drafted.

Bo Darby is the kids name and he plays for Logan High School..The problem with him going to college is that he spent his High School career at a vocational school, leaving him 1 class shy of meeting NCAA ClearingHouse requirements..He will probably go to WV State University and sit out the 1st year..He is willing to go to a JUCO knowing that he will be followed my a pro team..Again, WV players are overlooked straight out of High School unless they throw in the 90's..
