Congratulations to these outstanding kids of Kings Mountain. But I have to tell you a story about these kids as people. On Friday I witnessed something that was amazing and in this day and time it does not happen much. On Friday at the Creek when everyone was told to go to their buses it began to rain unbelievably. A team competeting in the tournament was carrying stuff to the bus and a cart turned over.In the pouring down rain the Kings Mountain kids got off their bus and helped pickup every bit of it and get it to where it belonged.They never worried about the rain, next ballgame or what. But they did see the importance of helping someone in need. That is the reason why they are 2X State Champions because they have heart. The same heart that showed on the field. So as one who was standing in the rain, thank you for your help. To the players and Coaches congratulation a well deserved Championship.So you see in a time when young folks only hear the bad stuff I appauld this great group of Kids. Coach Grayson you have taught them well.

As a father of a KM player, thanks for the kind words. I saw that nice gesture as well and I believe it was led by CanAmMan's DD. I agree, one of the reasons for their tremendous success has a lot to do with being good people and having big hearts. Another example of their kindness this year was when the entire team visited a local assisted living center and played Bingo with the local residents! The residents really enjoyed the visit!

 

Please don't tell me my DD did something nice for someone. I will have to go home & beat her for that!!!!!!

See, I have always told her to help out when she can. You all may think that I am just a "peckerhead" but I do try to teach something good to these girls. I have been around them for probably 8 - 10 years and have seen them grow up to be the TEAM they are now. Coach Grayson has done a great job teaching these girls not only softball but alsohelp them grow personnally. These girls are a great group and will miss them but just to let the girls that are returning & the Coaches that I will probably come & see some games nest year & to Coach Grayson " I don't have to sign any letter saying that I have to be nice"!!!!!!!!!! :imagestor
