this thread brings up an interesting point.. what part does everyone think going to the college camp of your choice plays in getting to play at that particular school? My particular experience has been positive in this regard. I had a good conversation with the coach told them that the school was my daughter's first choice... in general did some major sucking up! The coach was very open with me and we will be going back every year. Thoughts?

    Very Important

As a pitcher's Dad I can tell you that camps/clinics are money well spent. Works really well for pitchers as many schools have one day clinics in the off season. We went to every one we could find. Got her first "unofficial" D1 offer after a Saturday AM clinic as a HS sophomore. Got her first solid full ride D1 offer after attending a similar clinic at a different school in December before of her junior year in HS. We didn't even know this school had seen her pitch but had (at Florence SC). I've seen girls blow these opportunities by coming to these things with "know it all" attitudes. Coaches are looking at more than the radar gun. They want to see if a kid is coachable and how they interact with the older girls. Make sure your DD understands this!
