    Gaston Braves

Hey, I will be getting the stats together for the Gaston Braves very soon and will post them as soon as I get them together.

As far as some quick notes now:

Todd Palmer is 28-42 on the yr and hitting an unreal .667 for the Braves.
Jamie Bolton is hitting about .500 and Josh Frazier, Justin Moore, Aaron Horne, and Brody Heffner are all hitting the ball well.

As for on the hill, both Zach Horne and Josh Frazier are 2-0 on the season.

I will get the full stats updated soon.

Josh Huskins from Burke Co. Post 21 has recorded six straight hits in six ab's in the past two games. Josh is a 9th grader and actually attends East McDowell Junior High..that is right junior high. He played varsity baseball for McDowell this yr. and is starting at 2nd or dh for Post 21. Not sure on his average for the yr. Will check on that and post it. Bright future for a great young man.

You can actually play on a Varsity level if you have the playing ability. We have kids in Cabarrus County who started out on JV and have actually been able to move up.I had a player on my middle school baseball team who will be playing Varsity as a freshman.

    Gaston Braves

    Leading Hitters: (min. 30 Ab's)

Todd Palmer-Catcher, Sr. South Point HS, signed with Blue Ridge CC.
    Avg. .667 through 45 AB's. Also 2 hr's.

Josh Frazier-INF/P, Jr. Ashbrook HS, Avg. .389 through 36 AB's, has not committed to a college yet. Also 2 hr's.

Jamie Bolton-INF/OF, Sr. Forestview HS, Avg. .385 through 39 AB's, signed with Belmont Abbey College.

Derek Yow-INF/OF, Sr. East Gaston HS Avg. .350 through 43 AB's, has not signed anywhere but would be a good late pick-up for a CC or a D2 school. Can also pitch, he is the closer for the Braves this yr. Throw's around 83-86 mph when closing. 81-84 mph starting.

Marcus Duckworth-OF, Jr. South Point HS Avg. .333 through 30 AB's, good outfielder who can run and get on base. He is the Braves leadoff man who has been timed a sub 4.0 to first base. Has not signed with a college yet.

Justin Moore-College Freshman, Gardner-Webb Univ. went to East Gaston HS. Avg. 318 through 44 AB's. Has 1 HR and play a great 2nd base. Hard working kid who plays the game the right way.

    Pitching

Don' have K's, ERA, etc calculated yet but here are some records.

Zach Horne- Soph. South Point HS. currently 2-0 on the mound and is a solid lefty with alot of potential. Was 8-2 in his Soph. season on the mound for a solid South Point HS team that went 19-7.

Josh Frazier- Jr, Ashbrook HS, currently 2-0 on the mound this season and went 9-2 I believe on the mound for Ashbrook HS this season. Also pitched Ashbrooks first round win over a very good South Meck HS team.

Evan Jonas , Charlie Hill (Carson-Newman), David Bumgardner,
Matt Dameron (Mars Hill Coll.), and Derek Yow all have one win each.

    Hope this helps
