South Caldwell

6/10 - Double Header with East Rutherfordton - Two 5 inning games

1st game - East Rutherford came back from being down 3-1 and won in the bottom of the 5th. East took advantage of a couple of errors to win 4-3.

2nd game - South won 8-2 with 11 hits.
Spencer Smith went 3-3
Tyler Dillard, Ryan Starnes and Dominic DiBernardi all had 2 hits each.

Some great hitting from both teams.

These guys learned the news of their close friends' death in a car crash right before their first game on Saturday. It was tough, especially on the sophmores who had Matt and Karson in their class, and on Coach Parham who had coached Karson in girl's varsity basketball. The guys are learning a lot of hard life lessons. Coach Parham did a wonderful job of talking with the guys as he broke the news during warmups. He is helping and coaching them right now with a lot more than baseball. Thank you Coach!
Matt and Karson were only sixteen years old and their friends who were following them came upon the wreckage just moments afterward. Grief counceling will be offered at South Caldwell this week on Tuesday I believe.
Please keep all of these families in your prayers.

Rowan Jr. Legion stayed unbeaten(14-0) with a 10-1 win over South Rowan. Tanner Brown pitched a complete game 3 hitter. Justin Mock went 4-4 with a 3B, 2B and 2 RBI's. Alex Britt and Robbie Ijames had 2 hits. Rowan plays Cherryville on Wednesday at Newman Park.
