    Negative Comments

Why post comments that are negative towards a young man that accomplished something great at his level? Im sure there are alot of people that can name someone they thought deserved to be on the team that did not make it. And Im sure there are people that do not agree with all the young men that did make it. There is no need to single anyone out is there? There has never been a team picked that everyone will agree with. I just dont think it is fair to embarrass anyone or single anyone out , period. No need to name the school the kid plays at. If you disagree just say you disagree with some of the selections.

Wow, Airman.......that's what I call tough love. I agree with Coach 27. You may be right in your disagreement, but I think your point could have been made with a little less venom.

If the shoe was on the other foot, I don't think this kid would have said the same about you.....:twocents:

I agree with you guys. Sorry!! But you have to see where I am coming from. Just sounds impossible really if they knew the team they were picking from or I would assume they maybe looked at a stat at the first of the year and no further. Stats based on 28 AB's is incredible with the players that played and started all season with over 100 AB's and much better stats(ave., HR's, RBI's, Runs scored) I am not saying anyone else should have made it, just that noone will understand this one if you follow baseball at this school. If you don't start on your team and rarely play, how does this happen? I would not have said a word about any other starter on this team. I will be discreet about names and schools though. Also I'm just a fan, no kid on the team...but was shocked when I saw it and to see kids left off from a state championship caliber team. There are definitely alot to choose from with great stats. I guess they didn't have their stats.

Unbelievable... I suggest NCPREPS also ignored the Tri-7, a very tough conference with some very good players... Perhaps there was no input from the Tri-7, but then what is the value of conveying "state" honors upon a select group which does NOT reflect the "state?"

    airman,

Please read the 1st line in the post. Evidently you don't read all of the articles you post about. You asked how it was picked. READ THE 1ST LINE....
If the kid in question was nominated then I took the nomination as it came with stats. Surely you don't think one person can watch all the NC High School Baseball players in the state. Even the coaches poll...do you think all the coaches in the West saw players in the East play. NO!
    You post makes NO SENSE....

I'm for every player in the state. My job is to promote as many NC High School players as I can.

    It is a tough job.

Have you tackled a job of this magnitude. If so let me know what you have done for NC Athletes?

Did you nominate any player from the Tri-7?
Did you send in any stats for the Tri-7?

maybe you need to read the 1st line in the post too....LOL

Well I for one do not read the ncpreps site, so it comes down to if you read their site and get the info that way. How can it be called all-state then just based on who sends in stats to your site, unless you get stats from whole teams and all teams. I'm sure the coaches poll are keeping up with good players on teams. Word gets around. So based on what you are saying, stats can be made up and sent in to you and you can make all-state if your parent sends in good stats. Stats are easy to get at www.caldwellbaseball.com for our county. More work for you though I guess, so I appreciate that you even attempt this task. Maybe more will send in stats next year whether they are valid or not. My post does make sense. Do you not take into account how many times you bat? We've got a kid on this team that led the team in batting average at .500 but he only batted 4 times. Should he make all-state based on his ave but not list AB's. AB's tell more of the story. Same difference here with 28 AB's.

    Boxman,
OK, the firstline of the post says "The picks came from nominations and NCPreps.com Stats!"

I guess I thought "NCPreps.com Stats" meant something, evidently "nominations" was the key. No, I did not submit any Tri-7 stats or nominations and it would seem neither did anyone else from the Tri-7.

So... IMHO, NCPreps "All-State" recognition is missing many quality players and should not be billed as "All-State"... maybe "All-who's been brought to NCPreps attention" would be more accurate, so it is what it is....

    Houston we have a problem

"He played in about ten games this season out of 36."

Well my rules book says I'm allowed to play 23 games. Apparently we're getting the shaft down east with caldwell co playing 36 games.
I'd stop complaining about a kid being recognized and start covering up the fact you have to forfeit all your games. Man that sucks
