You Area III guys need to keep in mind that all first round series in Area III must be completed by Thursday July 6,,,, so that second round may start Friday July 7. With rain likely this afternoon into tomorrow, look for possible doubleheaders on Thursday,,,, otherwise the rule is clear that these best of 5 series will revert back to being a best of 3 and whoever was leading after 3 games will be determined the winner and advance...

Back to best of 3. South Rowan for example has the edge on Lex. That crossed my mind Tuesday evening when the game was called for lightning. Not accusing anyone of anything for sure...but Lex is in a deeper hole.

I wasn't aware that they would play doubleheaders, TJ. That option wasn't offered 3 years ago to us in a series shortened by rain against Mt Airy.

Hey TJ...I thought the first round has until Friday to complete. The schedule was bumped back because of last week's rain so that round 1 ran Sat to Fri, right?

UK7Dook3,,,, we have been told that we would start the 2nd round Friday,,,, thats all I know, we are planning on Friday.

As for playing doubleheaders, yes you only have a certain number of days to complete a round,,,, actually if both teams agree you may begin early if both finish their prior series early, but both must agree. Last year against Concord, we were up 2-1 with only one day left due to bad weather, and going into that final day, both teams must face the possibility "what if" the team with only one win comes out on top that final day to even the series. In most situations like this, and Kann/Con agreed on this also last year,,,, we started that 4th game the final day at 4pm just in case there was a 2-2 tie, and sure enough there was a tie 2-2,,,, so we loaded cars and traveled to the other site and started a game 5 at approx. 8-9:00pm. It was a mess, but if you want to get in 5 games, you'll do bout anything.

Your right about your Lexy boys being in a hole, as you know this is why its important to win those early games. I've always heard in the playoffs the most important game is Game 1,,,, because you never know about the weather. Good Luck, and may "cool heads prevail" if both teams must work out a crazy schedule for Thursday.

Then again, maybe we in Ktown were told wrong and the 2nd round don't begin til Saturday,,,,,, but never gamble this time of year...

    Again, good luck.

I would say that game four is out of the book because it reverts back to a 3 game series. It would have to be an odd number games like 3, 5, or 7 game series.

Why does Friday have to be the absolute date to start the next round?
East coast didn't start their playoffs until July 4th............................
