What happened to Scotland Co? They have been a fixture in the State Tournament the last couple of years. Did they just put their feet up after winning the 4A State Title in HS?

As you guys know, the state tournament is being held in Thomasville this year, therefore High Point has been designated as the host team. Based on this, Area III will only get one other representative, which is truly unfortunate this year because there's 3-4 teams in Area III worthy of being there. Nevertheless, I've heard rumors that the High Point team may turn down this host bid because they didn't even qualify for the playoffs, they finished last in their division only winning a couple games, and therefore they haven't even played a game in 5 weeks by the time the state tournament comes around. If High Point backs out, hopefully Area III will be able to send their top 2 teams, instead of only one.

But has anyone else heard anything about this?

TJ, last week I asked our Athletic Director if High Point might consider backing out...& his opinion was 'no way'. That's all I know. I haven't heard any rumors otherwise. But it would be a classy move by HP. They want to host the State Tournament again in the future, so this would elevate their position in my eyes.

UK7Dook3,,,,,,, I have no knowledge of the High Point team either,,, and maybe they are hellbent on playing in the state tournament despite their W/L record, and if so thats fine. But what I heard, was that because they didn't make the playoffs, remember its already been 2 weeks since they've played a game, therefore it will be nearly 5 weeks between their last game and the state tournament, and with only winning a couple games, apparently they have some disinterested players. Maybe its not true, but thats what I heard. I don't really care either way, because only one team is going to win it all, so if HP shows up thats great for their kids,,, but it would also be a much respected move if they backed out and let a much better team take their place and round out the 8-team field.

I was just wondering if anyone has heard what I heard...

My money is still on K-town. Cy Young vs Cy Young tonight. Hide the women & children...
