Theres just so much here I would like to respond to lets just take it frame by frame if you will...

Welcome to coaching 16-19 year old guys. Everyone is starving for attention, but give a TON of credit here. If the egos were so bad, how are they winning? Next thing here is they get along like me and my brother do... we argue and gripe but at the end of the day we are behind one another and an outsider better not get involved.

The man has won 300+ Legion games in 10 years. I'd say hes an OK coach. I would also like to say the coaches work together EXTREMELY hard and I am proud to be part of that unit. Those guys are my friends and I love being a part of that program. Also, quick question, name five D1 or drafted baseball players that have played for Post 29 in the past 5 years? You can't, because there isn't five. Pineville has five RIGHT NOW.
It is crazy how you have 9-13 year olds already wearing South Caldwell stuff, they should be enjoying their middle school years. This Spartin stuff is for the birds. By the time these kids get to South they will be tired of ball.
What are you basing that one? Because the Spartan AAU basketball programs have done SOO poorly and produced some AMAZING basketball players (how about that ladies b-ball national runner-up this year?) What about baseball? cause that junior class played together for a long time and it seems to be hurting them...er.... maybe not. I think they were the 4A runners up, Jr. Legion State Champions, and will be playing in the American Legion State Title Tournament in a week. I hope they aren't too tired of ball.
MB any time you tell the coach you want the ball "like in the Scotland Game" get the job done. I know you will go far in baseball but dont let anybody in caldwell keep you down.
YOU SAID SOMETHING I AGREE WITH!!
GO CHERRYVILLE!!!!
...and take Pineville with ya!!!

By the way, its S-P-A-R-T-A-N. I have alot of pride in my alma mater. I work my butt off for Coach Hamby too. And it is Coach Hamby, he deserves that respect. If it isn't obvious, I bleed these programs. I'm sorry that you don't.

You played for Gary Hamby and Caldwell County and your a Bobby Dale Fan. Well that tells me where you played. And for MB, Caldwell is behind him and all the 29ers 100 %. We play team ball in Caldwell County.

    P'ville 4 - Caldwell 2

I think P'ville hit the ball decent against Baumgardner (sp?) who gave up 2 ER. Andress pitched a gem for P'ville. Defensive mistakes plagued both teams.

Game 2 will be hosted by Post 29 Friday 7PM as far as I know.

Lets see 96 wins and 29 losses in the last 3 years.....and this season the record would have been better except for the players coming late from high school...............thats Post 29 under Gary Hamby......includes Area Championships in 2004 , 2005 and going for 2006

The previous 7 seasons under Caoch Hamby...... 207 wins and 88 losses.....2 Area Championships in 4 appearances

Overall for Coach Hamby in 9 completed season plus a season still going.....
303 wins 117 losses 4 NC American Legion State Championship games....winning 3 state legion championships....hoping for the 4th in 2006.......4 Area 4 Championships in 6 appearances.

As far as coaches......Steve Abel, Myron Day and Brandon Banks are the current staff.

Coach Shawn Denney coached as an assistant at Post 29 from 1999 through 2003....Denney as a player played for Caoch Hamby on teams that played in 7 NC State Championship games at different levels........then he became a coach.
Coach Hamby was ultra successful when Denney was a player.....and when Denney was an asst. coach..... and more successful in the 3 seasons after Denney left as Post 29 has had its best 3 year run.

Like Downsouth must know, Coach Hamby believes in teamwork among his coaches and gives them much responsibility. But anyone close to it knows coach Hamby is the heart and soul and the man with the vision. There is no mistaking that. He is the achitect.

What difference does that make. A diehard fan is a diehard fan whether he is a former star player, the water boy, book keeper, or has never had a son on the team. Fans like DownSouth is what every player wish they had as a supporter.

I gotta say how impressed I was meeting Kevin Bumgarner. What a great guy. I left with the feeling that no one needs to be concerned with MB's future. His parents have it well in control. It's easy to see that Madison did not fall far from the tree.

BUT...I do have one concern. Kevin is a very smart man....so how did he ever decide to become an umpire:D:D:D...just kidding big guy:woohoo:

Welp, first of all... I have never EVER hidden who I am on here. My name is David Parsons. I act as the athletic trainer for Post 29 and I work for South Caldwell when I can both on a volenteer basis, because I do bleed those programs. Never have I been a hard man to find. I volenteer because I enjoy the game and working with young people. I have never asked for a dime.

Secondly, I am not ashamed in the least that God didn't give me the athletic ability to play baseball in HS or beyond. I use my gifts for what they are.

All that being said, you apparently have some grudge against me or these programs or both. I am who I am and if you want to talk about this man to man, hit that little private messege bar at the top and we'll talk.

Finally, Braves, thank you. I think there are a select few that "get it." For us its not about fame its not about glory or getting your name called out. Its about helping people. Thats what I like to do.

    No excuses

I think I speak for everybody that isn't from Caldwell County when I say, Quit Crying!! Caldwell County is not the first team to have their high school teams go deep in the playoffs. Most of those teams didn't start 0 for 5. Caldwell got off to a slow start. No excuses
