    Hey...

To quote someone famous... the rumors of our death have been GREATLY exaggerated.

Caldwell wins tonight 15-8 behind a pair of HRs by some Madison Bumgarner guy. Apparently he did some searching and decided his love of his friends and teammates was worth more than the showcase at this time. I am SO glad he decided to stay. Hes a true blue guy and his future is amazingly bright.

Game four... Sunday night at MS Deal. Again, its going to quite a show... I'd watch.

What do you mean he decided to stay? He supposedly doesn't leave until Wednesday? Or has that changed? Great job 29ers. Great team effort. Thanks DownSouth for the updates and info you provide for the 29ers. You are appreciated.

Great news tonight if you are a Caldwell fan. Madison Bumgarner has decided to remain with the team through the conclusion of the State Tournament. He got permission from the main guy running the showcase event in Wilmington to remain with the team through the final day and then pitch toward the end of the event in Wilmington. You could tell that this news really pumped up the team and the fans. MB is a class act and has not only great talent but great character as well. What a privilege it is to watch this young man play.

Great win by 9ers in Pineville

Unbelievable win by post 29 in pineville

down 4-1 in the 7th, Madison Bumgarner hits a 3 run bomb
Madison Bumgarner hit a grand slam in the 9th
    Had 6 RBI's
Kind of glad he decided to stay...way to go matty (LOL)

Casey Justice continues to have a hot bat...stay hot Casey

Timely hits last night by Hightower, Craig, Hardee, Chavis, Clawson, Shehan, Justice and Bumgarner

Good win from the mound by Chandler, Matt Gragg did a great job just to hold them to a reachable distance thru 6 innings...Good team effort

I hate to tell you I told you so, but I will anyway...early post stated Post 29 was not done just yet....its all about position, talent, luck...so there you go, thats the way it is on July 23 2006. And lets not forget BIG HEART these Caldwell guys have and it showed in the 15-8 smoking of Pineville

And plus Caldwell needed to make some more gate money. Its position Baseball. LOL...It will make a difference if our players eat at McDonald's or somewhere a little nicer.

15-8 smoking of pineville??? haha pleaase, 337 was up 8-4 in the 8th, pineville made 6 errors, and played aweful in the field. it was a great game for 8 innings, definately not worthy of the term "smoking".

You know, it was an unusual game. I thought both pitchers, Matt Gragg and Reid Rollinson were pitching great going into the 7th inning. Matt was hitting his spots and kept the Pineville hitters off balance for the most part.

But I thought both teams showed a lot of heart.

Quite honestly, I was standing with Matt's brother and I mentioned that Caldwell looked like they were just going through the motions. They have not hit well as a team throughout the series and they just looked DEAD....like Carolina said, " They were waiting on the State Championship Series" instead of concentrating on this series. The team looked tired...Madison looked tired...and they looked like a beaten team. Then Bam.....Madison hit a bomb and Caldwell appeared to have some life for the 1st time. But then Pineville answered with a Kurt Fulginiti bomb to put Pineville back on top.

It looked like that bomb took the wind out of Caldwell's sail...then the 8th inning, someone woke up the monster...bam, bam, bam, bam...hitting became contagious and Caldwell got back on top 11-8...the rest is history.

Caldwell showed some character in this game...and Pineville continues to compete with a less than full squad. This series should continue to be fun!:trophy: :trophy: :trophy:
