    It's the 12th...Kannapolis-2.....Pitt 2

    Ketner threw 9 innings...White threw 10.

    They heard I was running late for the 7:00 game, so they are still playing until I get there.

    Man, what a ballgame. I didn't see the end, but I saw the first 11 innings. A classic pitcher's duel. Kannapolis scored 2 in the first and 1 in the 12th. Best ballgame I've seen since Lexington vs. Morehead City (Andrew Morton vs. Lonnie Chisenhall) in last years state tourney. Sucks either team had to lose tonight.

    There was a good contingent of college coaches at the games today. High Point, Catawba, Pfeiffer and UNC all had representatives there that I saw. There may have been others that I didn't see.

    Also as a side note. The rumors about frothy beverages being served were unfounded. Thank goodness since there's going to be a Caldwell/Garner matchup tomorrow.

    A few observations about today's game. IT WAS HOT!

    Hats off to Kannapolis for hanging in there and getting it done!. Ketner and Little came up big. Finally, I don't think Carolina will hurt themselves with the White kid. He was throwing smoke but Kannapolis just waited until their opportunity and took advantage. What a game.

    What a game.Kannapolis caught a break literally in the 1st.The catcher for Pitt Co. had two pass balls in the 1st which helped Kannapolis score two runs.The catcher was pulled in the first,suffering from migraines.

    Classic pitchers duel from there on out.Back to back doubles with two outs in the 12th pulls it out for the Wojans.

    Blake Ketner and Brian Little come up big for the Wojans again.The White kid from Pitt County will make Carolina proud.He was tough to hit.

    Box score looked like this when I left

    I had just watched Andreas strike out the side for Pineville. Chisenhall started for Morehead City but was lifted starting the seventh. I didn't catch the name of his replacement.

    I was really impressed with Andreas (not sure I spelled that right). He pitched out of a no out bases loaded jam in the first ( Morehead had three infield singles to start). He just looks like one of those kids that thrives on pressure. He had a lot of big strikeouts.

    Chisenhall couldn't have been having one of his better games as he seemed to have trouble finding the strike zone. He threw a lot of pitches in 6 innings.

    I got there a little after six tonight and was treated to some free baseball between Kannapolis and Pitt County. Ketner looked strong in the ninth but got pulled for Brian Little who pitched great for three innings.

    I only saw Alex White pitch the 7th through 10th innning but man oh man was he tough. He was mowing them down and looked like he still had plenty of arm if the coach had decided to leave him in.

    Big hit by Sherril to win it. The Wojans are some BIG BOYS.

    Winners bracket tomorrow will be some good ball games.
