I really enjoyed watching the Hi-Toms team play. Everyone loves an underdog. They were a scrappy team and just about upset Pineville. They proved they deserved to be there.

i had to leave after 7 with the game tied at 9. it was already near 11:30 and i had an hour drive back home. good game. wossa said he wanted to see scoring and we got it. its a shame either team had to lose but watching Ktown rally from a 6-0 deficit was impressive. caldwell came to play, thats for sure. good crowd on hand, good to see some old friends and meet a few new ones. i'll be back after the coffee kicks in.

    POST 29 ONE WIN AWAY

Great game last night, Caldwell- 11 Kannapolis-10, one of the best in recent memory. Caldwell in good shape to win program's 5th state title, day of rest much needed! Congratulations to all players and coaches, what this team's done is amazing. Watch out for possible rematch with Kannapolis, that is a GOOD team!

Anyways -- Caldwell is definitely in good shape to win the title. There is no way that Messer and Bumgardner can be beaten twice from this point on.

    Caldwell over Kannapolis

Wow,,, I'm just getting moving after last night's game actually ended "this morning". Props to Caldwell for swinging the sticks the way they did,,,,, someone said the Piedmont Triad airport radar picked up Bumgardner's 2nd homerun, he crushed that one. Yep I'm proud of the Ktown boys for fighting back from a 6-0 deficit, it was just one of those nights where either team could've won and Caldwell took this one. Hopefully we'll get a rematch with them tomorrow, but first we've got to take care of some other business with the Pineville/Morehead City winner tonight.

Glad to see all these TBR posters at the ballpark. You can't ask for much more than great weather and great baseball to sit around and shoot the bull.

Kannapolis falls to 33-9 on the season with the loss.

Wow the Caldwell - Kannapolis game was maybe the best AL game I've ever witnessed by 2 unbelievably great teams. The way this game was going you just had a feeling that whoever had the last at bat was going to win this game. Both these teams have amazing power all up and down the lineup. I know I saw Kannapolis hit 2 HRs the night before and 1 last night and that makes 7 HRs for Caldwell during this tournament. Madison Bumgarner has hit 3 of these 7. Both fan bases were outstanding as well, making lots of noise to support their teams but doing it in the right way. Also Kannapolis showed a lot of class at the end of a heartbreaking loss by joining in the team huddle with Caldwell to say a prayer. Both fan bases should be extremely proud of these 2 great programs. What a strong field of teams we have seen in this year's tournament. Many games have gone extra innings or were settled by a single run. Even the host team proved to be much more than competitive and their fans have to be extremely proud of them for just not mailing it in.

Wow, What a game Sunday night and Monday morning. It was a real pleasure to meet Braves and his son Sat. night. What a classy pair and so friendly and knowledgeable of the game. Also good to meet Dbacks20. Also classy and friendly and not nearly as ugly as Braves said he was.
Sun. night was one of the most exciting games I have ever watched. Two very talented teams just playing great baseball. It is shame either team had to lose. Great fan support, some questionable calls for both teams on Balls and strikes, but real class shown by both teams and coaches. Errors that hurt both teams but both teams battled very hard. HiToms to be commended for putting on a great Tournament to this point. Should be great game Tues. Hope to see great support from both teams.

I heard Bumgardner left immediately after last nights game for California to play in high school all star game.He will not be able to play for Caldwell if this is true even in the regionals if they advance.
