I had Josh Horton, but I was waiting for you to mention the Raleigh/East players

Big Arik was intimidating...Willard could flat out hit and Marcus is a heckuva player/pitcher, but I never got a chance to see the other players in HS

How would you like to be the parents of these boys this past season? Aaron kept getting awards week after week culminating in Freshman of the Year. Robbie ended his career as the Player of the Year in the SW4A...yep...the Bray's household was smiling all year.

And the best part about these guys....their terrific young men as well.

    Robby Bray

Robby went 15-0, 12-2 & 10-3 for an overall record of 37-5. Someone told me he was fourth in the state but I'm not sure. I was told that it was an Independence record and also a Charlotte reocord but I wasn't able to confirm the Charlotte part of it. If anyone could let me know it would be appreciated.

I am new to this board and I saw that someone mentioned Wilson Boyd. Wilson is a tremendous player. I had the chance to see him play all 4 years at Hickory High and he was a great leadoff hitter. I think his career average was around .420 and he is also 2nd in the state in career runs I believe. A current player from Hickory, Derek Boliek is pretty darn good himself. He did a great job replacing Wilson in the leadoff spot this past year. Derek is a career .462 hitter and still has another year to go. He is also 34/35 in stolen bases and has an on base percentage over .650. Wilson was a great high school player and Derek is right there behind him.

Personally, I thought he was 163-2. It seemed like he pitched for 10 years...:D

Welcome to the board sports4maniac...we are all very familiar with Derek Boliek. Most of us are waiting to find out where he will be going to school next year. The kid is awesome
