anybody got experience with this???? is it "urban legeand" ??? Does it work???? How exactly do you do it??? I find it REAL hard to take a $300 + bat and potentially ruin it. Thoughts???

I'm posting just to keep this thread alive. I've never heard of anything you can legally do to improve a bat. I'll be watching to see if someone has any suggestions.

I have heard of rolling a wood bat, never heard of doing a metal bet. I have actually "rolled" a wood bat. The purpose of it is to make the bat harder. It is not worth trying if you do not know what you are doing

Braves, I read the entire thread & still have no clue what's being discussed. I understand there is a heating process involved, but I'm still clueless about the type of bat being rolled. Sounds like softball stuff to me.

Alright well after reading that link, it seems as if I am talking about a completely different type of "rolling a bat." I have never heard of the way mentioned in that link, but as said before, it is pretty confusing.

It's a process developed by one guy to break in Mizuno's all along the barrel. The bat is put inbetween 3 or more rollers and the pressure is increased in a controlled manner while the rollers are turning, flexing the walls evenly all along the barrel. I understand that it only works on Mizuno's.

I understand it cracks the fiberglass inside causing a larger sweet spot and longer distances, but it also decreases the life of the bat.

Is that the same as 'boning" a bat? I used to do that
