Nothing on either schools website? Where did you hear this from? If true, wonder how players feel & what about the signee's, will they still sign or go somewhere else?

 

Heard it through a student, players was told this afternoon. Players are not happy from what I was told. But look from a different side if a player was offered to play at LSU they would go to.
Chances like this only come around once in a lifetime.

 

It is an awesome opportunity! but will still hurt the players, always heard that the grass is not always greener on the other side.

i think the biggest thing about this will be what may be a very good thing for the players in north carolina. i feel bad for the girls that ms. smith has recruited to go to wnc because they have started a good thing up there, but think about the bigger picture. coach smith built a very good program with a bunch of carolina girls. if she can have that kind of influence at lsu then imagine the possibilities. with her down there, coach poppa signing some carolina girls this year, and with ms. glosson, ms. ward, and ms. covington going to big time D-1 schools this could mean a lot more carolina girls getting looked at by these big schools. after so many years of struggling to get north carolina on the map with softball by folks such as the cardinals, blues, and curve (among many others) we may finally have our foot in the door. now all we've got to do is kick the darn thing down. good luck to coach smith and all the girls at wnc.:229031_ha

The LSU opportunity could not have been given to a better person or coach!

Over the past year and half, I have been fortunate to come to know Coach Smith from a parent and coach's standpoint. Megan is one of the most professional and kind people you could ever meet. She is a class act and an excellent coach and recruiter as well. She truely cares about the well-being of her players and it shows in her recruiting and coaching.

I'm sure there are some long faces in Cullowhee this week, but there shouldn't be. This is a great team with a strong foundation in place. I'm sure the atheltic administration will do another great job in finding a new coach that will only build on what Coach Smith, Coach Roorbach and Coach Price have put in place.

 

Bmac1, very well said. I am sure the staff and the players will appreciate your kind words and encouragement. Good luck to Coach Smith at LSU...I will be watching. More importantly, good luck to the great group of girls who took a chance to be a part of a brand new program...you have done everyone proud.
