And seeing as how this will be my first trip is it actually Jupiter or is it Ft. Meyers? How do they get all those teams through in three days? What should I definately not miss? Looking forward to it. Hope my son plays well.

The last 2 years have been unusual. Hurricanes played a part in both of them.
Last year was delayed until November and the year before was moved to Ft. Myers because of the 2 hurricanes.

There is an underclassmen tournament the week before in Ft. Myers, but the grandaddy and the one you are referring to will be in Jupiter.

I can say this unequivocably...it will be the best showcase experience you will ever have....EVER!!!!!

There will be a game played Thursday night and conclude on Monday, so if you don't include Thurday, it runs 4 days.

I can talk about this for hours, so if you have any other questions..please ask away

oh..and what team is your son playing for?

Braves he will be playing for the Megastars. Myself and another fellow coached the Carolina Clash until this year but too many are going in different directions now. I hate it as we were a good team and the guys were a fun group to be involved with. Some of the players were: Spencer Terry and Ryan Hazelton-Weddington, Matthew "Jubal" Burleson and Wil Huneycutt-West Stanly, Darrall Simmons and Wes Elkins-Indy, Daniel Mallard-N.Meck, and from Unionville Piedmont (where that Tarelton guy is the asst. coach) Montana Brigman, Landon Ring, Brandon Santiago, and my son Jared Mode. After playing last fall in Bill Capps league, The Carolinas Piedmont Fall Showcase League, I was able to learn a lot from coaches at the various colleges we played at. One thing I learned is how difficult it was for me as a Dad to promote my son when one of the coaches asked about him. Just never felt comfortable doing it. With him being a rising senior I think him playing for Jeff and the Megastars will more beneficial for both of us! Jeff is a great baseball guy and the coaching staff seems to be top notch. Hopefully they will help him along with the recruiting process. I'm looking forward to Jupiter. Hope to see/meet some of you guys there. Thought there might be more responses to the post but maybe it will pick up as the time draws nearer. One question while I'm at it, I'm sure there will be more down the road. Where's the best place to stay? Is there somewhere centrally located to help cut down on travel time?

    Thanks

Anyplace in Jupiter is very convenient (many hotels will already be sold out though) If you can still make reservations at Fairfirwed Inn...that's a good one.

PGA Boulevard is another easy access. Just don't go all the way to West Palm Beach. That's a little too far.

Pretty much all that you will do down there is eat and watch ball games from sun up to 10:00pm

You will be totally immersed in baseball for 4 or 5 days. And Braves is right...A golf cart is the only way to enjoy that walk. Make sure you don't leave anything in the car that you want inside. Don't plan on an easy stroll back to the car.

If you have a break between your games just walk around and watch. You don't really need to even know who's playing. Just look for the scouts to see where the best players are playing.

Just curious about this statement! Jeff and the Megastars! Hmmmm.....Haven't heard a whole lot of positive things from that organization lately. I hope that things work out for you. Let us know how things go. I've heard that the tournament "IS" the place to be and be seen.

Depends which one I bring. Either the one with the "sound" system or the one with the "open bar". One holds 19 and the other holds 2, excluding the bartender.
